By the way....here in Orlando FL i see tons of new Avengers SXT, tourist, all rentals of course, and i did noticed something, the rear looks like a Pontiac Grand Am.

Many of us bought the New avenger in the first few months of '07, without the knowledge that Dodge would be offering a Lifetime warranty for it's 08 models. When the company announced that it was giving this warranty I was at first elated about the protection. However, after researching the particulars I've found out that not all 08's are covered free of charge. If you purchased your Avenger prior to July 24,07 your have to pay extra for the coverage. The Avenger is turning out to be a good car for me, but the company has disappointed us tremendously with it's greed. The added protection is going to cost an additional $700-$1000. I recently emailed Chrysler about the coverage and this is what I got back: "Thank you for contacting the Customer Assistance Center for Dodge® vehicles and thank you for your recent purchase. We are concerned that you feel penalized for buying your vehicle when you did. Your purchase represents an outstanding value that will provide many years of driving satisfaction. We regret that your purchase does not qualify for the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, but appreciate having the opportunity to review the matter with you. We understand you want to take advantage of the best deal possible when purchasing a new vehicle and you most likely received the best possible warranty on the date of your purchase. Our special sales programs are intended to create goodwill with the buying public and to provide purchasers with an even better value for their dollar in a specified time frame. Inevitably, however, some customers feel penalized when they are unable to qualify within the guidelines of the program. We regret you were unable to participate in the program. Although we are unable to retroactively offer the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, you may be eligible for our lifetime powertrain service contract. Please consult your selling dealership for further details regarding this Service Contract. Although a more favorable response could not be provided, we appreciate your sharing your concern with us. As you've probably already figured out it doesn't matter what model year you own, it is when you bought it that counts. I bought a new '07 Sebring this past September. It was built on the same assembly line as the Avenger. It came OFF the assembly line before any '08 Sebrings or Avengers. Since I bought it after the 07/26/2007 lifetime warranty started the warranty was included at no extra charge. I know you think it stinks that Chrysler won't make the warranty retroactive but they have to establish a date somewhere.

I was not paying attention , didnt seem like I was going that fast. Anyway the check engine light and tire pressure light was on, they had to reset it due to the battery not being used, before I test drove it they had to charge the battery. I test drove a 4 cylinder Avenger last week, mostly because the dealer was having a big promotion and giving away some freebies. I was highly unimpressed. The 4 cylinder version is ridiculously noisy when pushed even a little bit, and it had to downshift two gears under even fairly slight throttle application at about 40-50 mph on flat roads. I was highly unimpressed. Hard to believe Chrysler put effort into a new model that performs so poorly. I am not new car market, but I quickly decided even if I was, this would not be the vehicle of choice. My 2000 Taurus SES with the Duratech V-6 is a much more satisfying vehicle, and I am going to keep it at least another 3-4 years. My sister-in law's new 4 cylinder Hyundai Sonata was much quieter and smoother than this Avenger

One you get up there you're flying but it takes a little longer to get it going. I dunno if this is my car or if its all SXTs. I just feel like it takes a while to pick up. Also, I'm constantly filling up the tank. It's only $40 to fill it up so I guess i have a small gas tank thus it gets burned up quickly - not really sure. But those are my only complaints with the car. Does anyone know a website where I could find the chrome/aluminum window moldings (goes between the back and front windows)? Replying to: KarenS (Feb 07, 2007 1:26 pm) In 2/08 I bought the Avenger SXT Flexifuel,189hp-2.7 6cyl; I fill w/reg gas I am getting 26mi per gal, when I fill it w/E-85 it's running between 20-23mi per gal. the car moves when you want it too, seems to have better hp &lower gas mil w/E85, with reg gas I get better gas mi. & less hp-still nice on the wallet filling up w/E85.Love the car, loaded , heated seats,all power real good ride , nav syst,cd,bluetooth , within a month have put 2000k miles on it. Real head turner, lot's of looks & compliments on the car. I was looking at the '08 charger-it was overpriced and did not have as many options......so for the same money I got the Avenger and saved 5k. No complaints,very pleased with the car-now the wife wants one!
