Does anyone know if there is a minimum downpayment when selecting the 0% financing offer? My plan was to put $12,500 down but if i can finance the full purchase price, i maximize my savings using the 0% offer. Financing $42,500 at 0% has a present day savings value of $4,506 vs financing at 4.5%. Financing $30,000 at 0% has a present day savings value of $3,181 vs. financing at 4.5%. Both of these assume 60 month schedules. Both are significantly better than the $2,250 cash off incentive.

Yes, the payment would be high. My plan would be to leave the $12,500 in a separate savings account pulling out $300 or so a month to supplement my regular payment. |

I am looking at buying a 2009 GMC Acadia FWD SLT-1. I am located in the West Texas Region and the dealer I am doing business with is offering me the "Dealer's Price" of roughly $38,000 with either a total of $2250 in incenctives or 0% financing for 60 months. With $6000 down the monthly payments were calculated at $537. I am a first-time car buyer and am a little skeptical about the price. I feel that because of my age the dealer is trying to stick it to me. Does anyone have an idea of what I should settle to pay for either this vehicle or a SLT-2?

We just left the dealer, bought a SLT2 with all the options except navigation. We were really looking for a SLT1 with the 7 seat configuration and leather, but it is hard to find in our region (so. cal.) We paid $38,500 before rebates. Our rebates added up to $5,250 so $33,250 before taxes and License. I think we did alright, but seeing that we were looking for the SLT1, we still paid more then I wanted. At least the wife is happy.

Replying to: toyobing (Jul 18, 2009 5:37 pm) If you could describe the rebates that would be very helpful... I'm "this close" to pulling the trigger on an 09 AWD, but my local options are fading, as these the 09s are leaping off the lot with supplier pricing and the 0%/60 months promotion going right now. As such, my dealer doesn't want to budge from the supplier cost price point... Thank you in advance.

I have been looking at the 2009 Acadias. Dealers in my area (SF Bay) are offering them at $500 below invoice w/ 0% APR. It sounds and looks like the 2010 Acadias will be coming out sometime in August. Do you think $500 below invoice is fair? Should I wait for the 2010? |
