SLT-2 Prices NY by juckey

HI all,

I am in the process of negotiating on a new GMC ACADIA
2009 SLT-2 just about fully loaded with, Nav, moon roof, DVD, power lift, camera, proxcimity sensors, 120Vac outlet, No trailer hitch and cooling unit for the transmission, No hit the road package, standard wheels, black leather, black ext. The price I am at now is $43,079. 0% financing in NY.

The dealers are not budging lower than their initial $3K reduction in sticker price that seems to be common everywhere.

I will let you know how I make out in the end and if there are any hidden fees.

It is my feeling that the dealers will not receive any more 2009 stock and they are trying to unload what remains on the lots. It is my bet that the 0% financing will comeback before year end to help keep the cars moving. In the next few months they will have the 2010's.

Before I got interested in the Acadia I was looking at the Acura MDX. The interior and 3rd row is not that functional compared to the Acadia. The Adadia is a rolling entertainment vessel. The captain chairs are reel cool because it makes the 3rd. row passengers feel less restricted. The second row seats are indivually adjustable front to rear. This is good for making room for the 3rd. row passengers if they aren't little kids. The ride is nice! I liked it better then the MDX. The only weird thing was the turn signal was silent with no click click sound. Something I will have to get use to.

Acadia, CX9, Pilot by nuzy

We test drove the GMC Acadia, Mazda CX9, and Honda Pilot a couple weeks ago (all 2009 and AWD/4WD). Right now we have narrowed it down to the CX9 or Pilot. The GMC dealer really turned us off and it felt like they were pressuring us to buy now. Stories about how they had 50+ inventory (or 80+ depending on who you talk to) on the lot only a month ago, how people were buying sight unseen, waiting at the front door for the truck to unload...blah blah blah.

We drove a SLT1 with rear DVD, dual sunroof, visibility pkg, power liftgate, trailering pkg, remote start, 115v power outlet. We like the Acadia, but feel like we can get more for out money for a comparably equipped CX9 or Pilot. In our opinion, the biggest thing we lose by not getting the Acadia is that the other two don't have the 2nd row captains seats, but we can get over that. It is also larger and has a few more convenience items than the others, but those things are minor to us.

We had no intention of buying or even talking price, but the saleperson asked us to sit down anyway, and I was curious what he'd throw out. The GM of the dealer came out and said he had lots of money from GM to give until July 31. This was his inital offer:

$44,090 (MSRP including destination)
$750 rebate
$3,346 discount
$39,994

When we were getting ready to walk out, the salesperson told us if we were ready to buy they could look at sweetening the deal a bit - so I assume we could have knocked some more off the price above, but I'm looking to get into the low 30s before a trade in and figured there was no way to get there from where we were. Invoice including destination for this vehicle is $41,427. Just thought I'd throw it out as a data point for anyone looking right now.

IMO, seems like you could have gotten more. In my post a couple up I was offered 4,100 off MSRP for an intial quote on a vehicle that wasn't even as loaded up as yours and they told me straight up they would have sweetened it more. You are in a different region than me though, so who knows. I guess the Acadia is one of the few cars GM makes now that is selling decent, hence the relatively small discount. I assume you are talking about a 2009 - I don't even know if/when the 2010s are supposed to come out. If you got a 2010, maybe it's a better deal. Either way - killer vehicle you have now. I can't imagine it being any more loaded up!

thanks for your opinion. also, i think due to 0% interest on financing, dealers are not going down much. according to you how much percentage of discount is considered as a good deal over MSRP.

">link titleI didn't realize that you took the 0%. In that case, you did fine. That 0% is worth some serious $$$ on a car that expensive.

Sounds like it is a pretty good deal. New incentives are out now. For example MSRP $45,505 (SLT 2), 42,806 supplier price sale, plus $2250 cash back (40,556) or 0% for 60 months.

Does anyone know if there is a minimum downpayment when selecting the 0% financing offer?

My plan was to put $12,500 down but if i can finance the full purchase price, i maximize my savings using the 0% offer.

Financing $42,500 at 0% has a present day savings value of $4,506 vs financing at 4.5%.

Financing $30,000 at 0% has a present day savings value of $3,181 vs. financing at 4.5%.

Both of these assume 60 month schedules. Both are significantly better than the $2,250 cash off incentive.
