Dealers around here are offering huge incentives on '09 Acadias. One dealer is offering double the factory rebate and 0% GMAC 60 month financing. You get the double rebate and the financing. Additionally, they are putting a dealer discount on the price. Basically, you would get the $750 doubled to $1500, plus GM owners get an additional $1500. GM card holders can also use their "top off" offers. In my case, it would be $5,000 off before the dealer discount, and then 0% financing on top of it. This same dealer has the same offer on '09 Chevy Traverses. There are dealers out there willing to deal, it's just a matter of finding them.

Replying to: shopper20 (Jun 13, 2009 5:37 am) To qualify for the owner loyalty rebate, you must currently own or lease a GM vehicle (excluding Saab). They usually ask for a current copy of the registration card for the GM vehicle to prove you are, or someone at your household's address is, a GM owner. The owner loyalty rebate expires 06/30/2009. I have only interacted with Kerbeck via email so far, so I can't provide an opinion of them. The email interaction was typical of most dealers I have ever dealt with. I have not yet driven the 100 miles there to visit them in person. I think it is important to recognize that the deals on GM and Chrysler vehicles right now are simply unprecedented. Once the companies complete their reorganization, they have made it clear they intend to drastically cut production and equalize supply and demand. Once that happens, rebates and incentives will be minimal, and prices will stabilize (both new and used.) It is starting to happen now. The standard rebate on Acadia is $750. That is "nothing" compared to the $30K+ price of the vehicle, and hardly enough to entice people to buy. What we are seeing is automakers weaning people from rebates. It is long overdue and essential for long term survival. |

I am thinking of swapping a '08 SLE-1 (12K mi) for an '09 SLT-1....any thoughts on what a rock bottom difference should be? All help or comments appreciated. Thanks! |

HI all, I am in the process of negotiating on a new GMC ACADIA 2009 SLT-2 just about fully loaded with, Nav, moon roof, DVD, power lift, camera, proxcimity sensors, 120Vac outlet, No trailer hitch and cooling unit for the transmission, No hit the road package, standard wheels, black leather, black ext. The price I am at now is $43,079. The dealers are not budging lower than their initial $3K reduction in sticker price that seems to be common everywhere. I will let you know how I make out in the end and if there are any hidden fees. It is my feeling that the dealers will not receive any more 2009 stock and they are trying to unload what remains on the lots. It is my bet that the 0% financing will comeback before year end to help keep the cars moving. In the next few months they will have the 2010's. Before I got interested in the Acadia I was looking at the Acura MDX. The interior and 3rd row is not that functional compared to the Acadia. The Adadia is a rolling entertainment vessel. The captain chairs are reel cool because it makes the 3rd. row passengers feel less restricted. The second row seats are indivually adjustable front to rear. This is good for making room for the 3rd. row passengers if they aren't little kids. The ride is nice! I liked it better then the MDX. The only weird thing was the turn signal was silent with no click click sound. Something I will have to get use to. |

We test drove the GMC Acadia, Mazda CX9, and Honda Pilot a couple weeks ago (all 2009 and AWD/4WD). Right now we have narrowed it down to the CX9 or Pilot. The GMC dealer really turned us off and it felt like they were pressuring us to buy now. Stories about how they had 50+ inventory (or 80+ depending on who you talk to) on the lot only a month ago, how people were buying sight unseen, waiting at the front door for the truck to unload...blah blah blah. We drove a SLT1 with rear DVD, dual sunroof, visibility pkg, power liftgate, trailering pkg, remote start, 115v power outlet. We like the Acadia, but feel like we can get more for out money for a comparably equipped CX9 or Pilot. In our opinion, the biggest thing we lose by not getting the Acadia is that the other two don't have the 2nd row captains seats, but we can get over that. It is also larger and has a few more convenience items than the others, but those things are minor to us. We had no intention of buying or even talking price, but the saleperson asked us to sit down anyway, and I was curious what he'd throw out. The GM of the dealer came out and said he had lots of money from GM to give until July 31. This was his inital offer: $44,090 (MSRP including destination) $750 rebate $3,346 discount $39,994 When we were getting ready to walk out, the salesperson told us if we were ready to buy they could look at sweetening the deal a bit - so I assume we could have knocked some more off the price above, but I'm looking to get into the low 30s before a trade in and figured there was no way to get there from where we were. Invoice including destination for this vehicle is $41,427. Just thought I'd throw it out as a data point for anyone looking right now. |
