I'm amazed that GM isn't pushing them more myself. I think I posted here earlier that I wanted to buy a CTS when I sold my BMW. The CTS would have cost me $5k more than the Mercedes I ended up buying.

I really love the Traverse and Acadia, but dealers are only offering $3-5k off. That puts the price higher than the MDX (including special financing), Honda Pilot, Mazda CX-9 and even lower end ML350s and RX350s.

I want to buy American, but given the higher purchase price AND lower resale value, how can I justify that?

Yep- i wanted to buy an American made car (Acadia) but they can't even come close to the Honda Pilots Leasing money factor (.0014) and incentives...So i had to go with Honda.

Update: my local dealer just offered $8k off on his last 08 Acadia. Now it's only $39K--still more expensive than the highest price Pilot.

I plan to buy a used 2008 Acadia with 8K on it. I can get it for just under 30K. The unit is clean. Here are the specs

AWD SLT-2

Dual skyscape sunroof
Ultra bright aluminum wheels
HID headlamps
HUD
DVD system
Trailering package

Total 46,220
Invoice 40,831

Is this a good deal or can I do better??

Thanks in advance!!

Yes it is. I would buy that out from underneath you if I knew where it was. Ha! Which brings me to my second point.........I will not buy a new Acadia from GM because it drives me absolutley nuts that I do not qualify for their rebates. Their marketing people have to be dumber than a box of hammers. Just dirt stupid. GM always gives voice that they would like to get folks like me back (I buy a NEW Toyota about every 3 to 4 years) but I can't bring myself to pay $6K more than someone else who simply qualifies because they're a new grad, err -ah hey! owns a 1999 Cavalier....is a Latvian mother of three....

I guess it's another Sequoia for me even though the Acadia fits me better this time - at least I know I'll have a level playing field when I get to the dealer.

What should I pay? by planescape75

I recently started shopping for a new Acadia in the New York Metro area (Long Island specifically), and I've seen that some people in this forum have gotten some pretty incredible deals. Right now GM is offering $2000 if you have a lease coming due before September, I get supplier pricing, and I'm going to take the special (1.9 for 72 mo.) financing instead of the $2250 they are also offering. Is $4000 off MSRP plus the financing the best deal I can expect to get at this time in this area, or can I do better? And if I can, how do I get them to go lower? Two different dealers refused to go lower than this, and let me walk. I was very surprised. I also belong to Costco, and AAA if this can help me any. It didn't seem to. Any info, advice or help is greatly appreciated.

Have a quote for a '09 SLT1 Acadia in TX. MSRP $39.7k - $100 cash - $2250 rebate = $35,027+ttl. Dealer claimed his Cost was $37,177 (before the cash & rebate). This has the leather, sunroofs, power outlets, power liftgate, trailer pkg. Seems like I can get an Acura MDX for appx the same... Comments, please...
