Replying to: kmchotwheelz (Dec 07, 2008 4:42 pm) It was probably a demo. I bought a demo Avalanche a couple of years ago. I got them to take an additional 15 cents a mile off for the excess mileage. My argument was that they charge 15 cents a mile for a lease overage. It worked.   I would try to get true invoice less $600 for the mileage. It has 4000 miles more than a new car, so it has 4000 less life on the tires, probably never had an oil change. All these things have a value. Good luck

Interestingly, if you finance, banks will charge a higher "used" vehicle rate even if a you buy a previously titled vehicle with as little as 500 miles. Banks will charge a lower interest rate in this case or even in the case of a never-titled vehicle with say 10,000 miles. Nobody ever said banks were smart.   That said, unless the dealer bends significantly on the red-tag price, you can probably find a used equivalently dressed Acadia with extremely low miles for somewhere in the very low $30K range. I usually always buy new, but I'm close to buying a used '08 with 10K miles (origianl MSRP $41K) for $28K. I'm not sure why the depreciation has been so hard on these vehicles. Perhaps there are concerns about a GM bankruptcy which could put your warranty at risk as you are in reality an unsecured creditor.

Just bought 09 Acadia sle with bluetooth, convienence pkg, 7 seating, Preferred seating. for $28,800 I feel like i got a great price MSRP was 33,090   was this a good price?

I hate it when GM vechicles are advertised as better than Honda or Toyota or Nissan, etc. Advertise the GM vehicles as having so & so good quality and leave the competion out of it. Always bad mouthing the compation makes current customers that drive Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc. stay away from your salerooms. I've own Fords, Chryslers and currently have a Honda Odyssey. In fact, I'd be disappointed if the domestic makers didn't try to convince us that they're better than the foreign competition. I trade my vehicles in very often, generally every other year, and I consider the Big Three every time. However, I haven't found another family vehicle that compares to the Odyssey (my fourth since 2001).   GM should try to make the argument that the Acadia, Enclave, Outlook, and Traverse are a better alternative. When I trade in my Odyssey next year, I'll be taking a very hard look at the Traverse and Acadia (especially since my wife will likely kill me if I stick her with another minivan!).   One thing that does bother me about the domestic makers is that prior to their recent difficulties, their prices were absurd. I bought my Mercedes C350 for about $5k less than the Cadillac CTS I really wanted to buy. Even the BMW 335 was less expensive. GM has to drop this dependency on rebates and offer lower total costs of ownership if they want to bring foreign car buyers back into the fold... Anyway it's good you did not buy the CTS as it has engine problems. I have a friend who is sorry he bought one. Two of my firends have MB M5. GM is talking about the VOLT but Honda says it's too soon for this techniology and Honda would not go there yet. Honda says the grandson? of the founder of Honda is taking over the company shortly.

Based on some previous posts it seems that 9-10k under msrp is in the realm of possibility for a 2008 SLT 4SA model. Does anyone have any recent experiences to share?
