Motorola DC800 Bluetooth Gateway

Congrats on your purchase jdsci

I am responding to your question about Bluetooth:

I am not sure if the Motorola DC800 Gateway will fit your requirements, but using this adapter, the A/C outlet and the rear aux input, I can play music via bluetooth & the Acadia's Bose system from my Samsung Sync phone. No permenant installation required - do it yourself. And it is cheap.

I spent hours trying to find a DC-powered alternative, but this was in August 2007 when I did the research, there might be something better out there today, at least I know this works. I use it almost daily except on very short trips.

You might look at this product and think that looks like it is for a home stereo only, but by using the A/C outlet included with the Acadia's rear entertainment system, it works fine. The DC800 only runs on AC power.

For me it was the coolest addition I could have made to the Acadia. I plugged in the unit and threw it in the console running the wires between the console and the driver's seat, the wires are barely visible (much cleaner than having a cable dangling from the dashboard input). Next, I paired my phone with the DC800 this was a little tricky because you have to tell your bluetooth player to start playing music via bluetooth before it will look for bluetooth headsets. It found the DC800 (I think you also have to push the button on the front of the DC800 to make it visible).

Anyway since the first pairing, my phone finds it automatically and plays the music no problem. I have combined this setup with the Rhapsody to Go music service. Since the Samsung Sync phone is compatible with the "Plays for Sure" subscription music standard, I can pick and choose from over 4,000,000 songs to transfer to and play from my phone for $14.99/month. Non of that $.99/song BS.

If your an IPOD user, you might need something like this.

IPOD Bluetooth adapter

I love to demonstrate it, standing at the rear of the Acadia, I use the rear audio controls to switch to the Rear Aux Input source, set my phone to play through the Bluetooth and crank up the volume. Most people just scratch their heads and say: "I've never seen anything like that before, but it sure does sound good".

You should know that this solution does not provide any Bluetooth telephone capability, it only acts as a Bluetooth headset (for playing music through the Acadia's stereo). When I get a call, I still have to answer and talk through the phone. But you do hear the phone ring through the Acadia's stereo.

Others should note that this solution requires that you purchased the DVD rear entertainment system with your Acadia.

Hope this helps & Good Luck

Thanks for the detailed response jwc8888.

I can see why you would like that setup! It does sound like a good way to get your playlists onto the car's system.

Unfortunately for me, I am mainly looking for information about Bluetooth telephone capability.

I'm thinking about the Blueant Supertooth Light, which is portable and will work in any car independantly, but I'd love to hear that someone has an integrated system in their 2007 or later GM product.

Thanks,
-J

2008 - Under $34K for SLT2 by drtpaper

Got my 2008 for $130 over invoice and will get whatever rebates are in place when car arrives.

SLT-2 with no upgrades. They will deal if you don't take one off the lot. They can't get enough for the floor, but they will order one since they don't have to carry the cost.

I recently tried to buy one of these. GM thinks they have a real winner around here, but I did not get sucked it. Most I could get off sticker was around $2k. Their lease rates are insane....as in, I could lease a Volvo and have money left over for a Harley. If you lease one of these, you have got to be nuts.

Also, I am ticked because GM would only allow me to use $1k rebate from my GM card eventhough I have $3500 on it.

So, I ended up with an equally equipped Pacifica. Not my first choice, but I drove off the lot for $12k less then the Arcadia I wanted. Looks like I am getting the Harley too - LOL

SLE-1 Base Price Discrepancy by jeff95ta

I'm seeing two different base prices for the SLE-1, either $31,990 or $32,500 (both include destination). Some window stickers from the GMC site show one price, others show the other. I thought there was a price increase, but the earlier VIN number has the higher price, and a later has the lower price, and an even later has the higher price.

And even weirder is the "Build your GMC" portion of the GMC website. When you get to the choose color screen, the base price changes from $31,990 to $32,500 (with the default Summit White color). If you choose a different color, then go back to Summit White, the price changes to $32,500.

Anyone have any idea what's going on? Am I wrong that the VIN numbers are sequential, and that higher numbers are built after the lower ones, so maybe there was a price increase?

This is a very confusing process, so you are not alone. GMC is not the only one either that makes this tricky. You may have simply selected a color that has an added charge for the special paint.

Sometimes you have to just dive-in, buy the thing, and not look back - lol

No one ever gets a good deal on buying a new car. Anyone who says they did, is just in denial. It's all about damage control and minimizing the losses - lol

It was for the same color. I had sent a message to GMC and received a phone call (on a Sunday of all days!) stating that they saw the same problem on their website and were escalating the call response.

I still don't know why there are different prices on the window stickers, but at least it's a start.

Enjoy the truck and sounds like a good price. Was this price before or after rebates? On the more equipped models, it seems to be much harder to negotiate at least around here.

It was a not very well equipped model (perhaps thats why we could negotiate?). Since it comes standard with everything we need, we specified an SLE-1 with no options. We originally had been quoted invoice (28,545) with $300 under invoice plus the $500 rebate, for a total of 27,745. However, as luck would have it, after agreeing on a price and showing up the next morning the dealer had sold the truck that we agreed upon, so we got one with an additional trailer package for the same price. The trailer package adds approx $475, which means we ended up getting our Acadia for approx $1275 under invoice. We purchased ours from a dealer in southern california
