I understand what you are getting at. Hum, say on the '07 Acadia SLT 1, spread between MSRP and invoice is $2,160. Room for Ad fees in that. Spread between TMV and invoice is only $552, about what the Ad fees seem to be running average. So, is net profit before holdback, volume incentives, etc. pretty much $0 after deducting the Ad fees (or adding them to base invoice). I'm glad I have not put out the million to buy a dealership and make minimal profit on a pretty poplar vehicle.

Now getting to the regional ad fees, with network advertising, satellite radio, internet, etc. I don't see any more difference in having national Ad fees that having national destination fees. Maybe it will eventually come to that, but I'm wondering if checking the smaller town, lower overhead dealers might be a good idea. I know they don't have the same volume, but if their overhead is much lower and they get hit with minimal Ad fees, then they might be able to have a lower net sales price than the high volume, high overhead, high Ad fee dealers in the 'big city'.

Hey, I've got it now...this is some of the 'new' math they started teaching after I got out of school...dang, my 40th high school reunion is just a couple of years from now.

My neighbor works for an RV dealer and some one traded in their Acadia for an RV. It has 11,000 miles on it, silver, fully loaded, I mean every options available. He can sell it to me for $34,500 plus tax/tag/title. Is that a good deal?

I am looking at a 2008 Acadia SLT2 AWD with leather seats. Does anyone have the actual front seat dimensions? Would like to compare with my current autos. Thanks for the help.

If it truly has every option, sounds like a good deal. I had dealer offer $37,900 for '07 SLT-2 and it did not have DVD or Navigation. Thought it was still pretty good deal but decided to buy '08 instead.

I was quoted the following; 2007 SLT 1 AWD, with minimal options. 36,600, .59 residual, 6.9%, $1985 down which consists of 1st payment, Sec deposit, Acq fee and DMV fees. Monthly lease payment = $586 for 39 months. Good, bad or ugly???

$45,310 for $41,000 by fenwah

MSRP: $45,310.00
Selling Price: $41,000 (according to their papers, it's $671.85 below invoice...but according to my local dealer who I talked to, it's $1,047.05 below invoice...and I have a hard copy of those papers as well...have no idea why invoice is different at these two dealerships...they are about 150 miles apart)
Documentation Fee: $250 (I didn't put up a fight on this since the price was so good)
County sales tax of 6.5%: $2681.25
Title Fee: $15.00
30 day tag: $10.50
OTD price: $43,956.75 (before GM earnings)

GM Card Earnings are appx. $3400

Knocking it down to ~ $40,556 OTD

No trade was involved...found a dealership (Sellers in Farmington Hills, MI) who was selling vehicles through autotrader at just above employee pricing. I used that web site and linked it in with emails to numerous other dealerships in the area. Many dealerships thought I was lying...but it's right there on the web. One dealership came $500 above Seller's price but would deliver it to my house...so I said, "Sold!"

I understand different people, different preferences but why pay 45K for a GM while you could get a Mercedes ML500 for the same price ?

The reason I'm posting this cause I saw the Acadia onthe raod for the first time yesterday and kinda interested in it but after finding out the price....hell no! I rather go with the Merc unless I'm missing something here.

I'm guessing because one has a big 3rd row and one has none at all, for starters...

And Mercedes has a horrible quality reputation, with all the problems far costlier to repair than on domestic vehicles as a general rule.
