In addition to what is described above, the 4.7 2008 is a significantly different motor. The engine block will be the same as well as the crankshaft, but there will be new pistons and rods. The top part of the motor, however, is completely changed. New cylinder head design makes the combustion chamber shape more hemispherical than polyspherical as well as being three valves per cylinder. The induction system is completely redesigned. The coil-on-plug system will be gone and a two-plug-per-cylinder system with cross firing plugs (as in the current Hemi) will be incorporated. Noise will be reduced by approximately 3 db. The engine is also said to contain less vibration. Regards, Dusty

Replying to: dustyk (Feb 10, 2007 11:35 am) I've been totally pleased with my Quad cab. What I've seen on the Dodge site might sway me to buy a new '08. I'll have to see them in person first. Main thing looks like the front seats will be more comfortable, new design looks better than '07. Improvements to the already great 4.7 sounds good. Maybe in 6 months I'll decide? Anyone else still own their 2001 Quad? Mick |

| I have a 2001 quad AWD, slt, leather and i think its the perfect truck, I absolutly love mine!!! | |
| I was looking on the Dodge website at the 08 Dakota. I noticed that the payload rating for a 4x4 QC is only 1100 lbs. My 02 QC 4x4 is 1300-1400 lbs. That's pretty useless. | |
