This a great car. I wish BMW would add another engine option for those of us that don't want 230hp or 300hp. 200 or even the old 175/184 was fine.

The article states that the only competitor for performance is the MB CLK63.The current Audi S4 Cab has 340 hp and posts 0-60 times similar to the 335. It is, however, a soft top like the CLK.

Stick shift obsolete??? by jkross22

Good review, but the stick shift obsolete comment is ridiculous. If I want an auto, I should buy the S4, Merc or any other brand save BMW and Porsche. These guys know how to build cars that are engaging to drive and there's no worse way to disengage a driver than by throwing in a slushbox. You can keep your 6, 7, 8, speed autos with paddles on the steering wheel, manumatic, smg, blah, blah, blah, just make mine with 3 pedals! I've never driven ANY automatic that is more fun/engaging than a manual, and fun is what this car is all about.

Yeah but you can actually drive the BMW since it won't be in the shop all the time like the SLK's

Can you clear up an inconsistency in your report for me? The voice in the video clip says the 335i will go on sale in the US in March, but the text in your write up says April. Do you know exactly when US dealers can offer this model for sale?

The SLK350 was also on my list, until I looked at one today. I think if you're over 175 pounds or taller than 5'9", the SLKs are just too small. They are sexy mini-cars though! I'd like to hear more about the SLK maintenance issues. Anyone had any significant (good or bad) maintenance/repair issues with BMW?
