Hello have a 2007 G35 Sport which is a big investment for me. Want to keep it nice and clean, have a good cover but also would like advice from users on the best products to use to (1) Clean inside dash (2) leather (3) wheels (4) wax body. The manual says ask the dealer but they dont have a clue.

Thanks in advance and happy safe riding to all

Hi pmonica - Did you ever figure out why this was happening? The EXACT same thing just started happening to me three days ago with my 2007 G35x (all package options). The alarm has gone off on its own three nights in a row around 10:30 PM.

The only thing I can point to as a possible cause is I've kept it in the garage all winter and it started happening the night I left it out in the driveway for the first time. It didn't get very cold or anything, so I'm not sure why that would matter. As a test, I left it in the garage tonight and, sure enough, the alarm went off at 10:30 PM, almost right on schedule for the previous nights.

I haven't called the dealer yet as I've been busy with work, but if you found a solution, please let me know.

You guys are all like a Godsend! I've been having this problem in my 2005 6MT G35 sedan for 7 months now. They have replaced the throttle body, clutch, ECU, PCM, made me buy new tires, blamed the gas, changed the speed sensors in the wheels and the dash......the car still does the exact same thing!!!!!! I'm dealing with the BBB now trying to make them buy the car back since they can't fix it. The kicker is that they claim the car does not do what we all describe. They say it is driver error....LOL. The car has been into the dealer over 9 times and the corporate engineer has even had to come down. Even he claims the car is not doing anything wrong. No car I've ever had has done this crap before. Anyone know what the problem really is?

I'm in Houston too! Which dealer are you going to? I went to North Houston Infiniti and they did absolutely nothing to actually fix the problem...just change out parts for nothing.

I have same problem! I have found that going through the Better Business Bureau has helped the most so far. Also, there is actually a link on You Tube for a guy who has a Skyline that has the same problem. He Dynos the car so you can see exactly what is happening. Just look up G35 Problem and it will be there.

I had the airbag light come on as well. My car is an 05 G35X. My dealer did not replace the circuit board. They said thay tried that with another car and it did not fix the problem. Instead they replaced a cable in the column. Some kind of curly cable. Sorry for not knowing the exact name. Anyway, the problem never returned. Dealer is Salerno-Duane Infiniti, Denville, NJ in case your dealer wants to check.

Paint Chipping by kb124

Over the past 11-months since reading this forum and owning this vehicle, I have seen some other postings regarding paint chipping, so apparently this condition has occurred with others. Does anybody know at what point paint chipping can be considered a product flaw (and covered under the warranty) versus 'caused by owner' and not covered under warranty?

My situation...I have two sections of the car where I have small paint chips (no dents). One side I suspect might be from my wife's rear driver-side door. She parks in the garage on the right side on my G35. She gets out of the car and then opens the back door to get her stuff out. She has always been careful when opening the door, and admits that the door does touch and rests against my passenger-side rear door, but she never has opened it hard and banged the doors together (I believe her, and as mentioned previously, there is no actual denting).

Then on my driver door, I open it and sometimes depending how close I parked, the door might open and rest against the rounded edge of my lawnmower handle. Again, no hard slamming and no dents. Unfortunately I have to assume these small paint chips were caused by this door just resting against the lawnmower handle. As I mentioned, the lawnmower handle is curved and rounded; not sharp edged or pointed.

Now I can easily see how one might say the chipping was my (and my wife's) own doing. But I am stumped, as have others that have encountered the chips, that this was so easily caused by the above-mentioned actions. It would seem to me that a good paint job would be able to protect and retain itself better than this.

One last point...I had the paint coated with that paint shield stuff, done by the dealership, when the car was bought brand new

Any comments? Suggestions?

Buy touch up paint and move the lawnmower.

Seriously though, I have not noticed any more paint chipping problems with the Infiniti compared to any other car.

Appreciate the reply Esfoad. After dealer where I bought car replaced the board four times, I went to a different dealership. The second dealership replaced the cable you mentioned, as well as the board and the whole driver's side air bag. So far so good after one month.
