Hmm. This definitely wasn't a clutch smell (I know that smell far too well ^_^ ) but it did stink pretty badly. I only ever noticed it early in ownership when I'd park the car in my single garage.

The only time I noticed a distinct brake smell was after running my G35 at the race track. I wouldn't have attributed the smell to VDC even though I left it engaged most of my time on the track. I'll see if I can come up with a place to invoke some spirited driving without a lot of brakes required and see if I can smell the brakes.

P.S. I did eventually pass that Z06

LOL!
Was he re-fueling at the time?

I've never taken the G to a track day, but every morning that I'm alone and not transporting my kids to school... it's almost the same thing.
I've smelled this smell occasionally and always assumed it was brakes... although I only usually use them one... when I arrive at my destination!

[ On Topic ]

Why would you smell brakes if you only used them once?

[ Off Topic ]
Nah, the z06 blew a decreasing radius turn I didn't.

Pre turn
Post turn
Check out my lead!

(The reality is the Z06 was BRAND new, still had paper plates on it and the driver wasn't interested in pushing it as hard as I was after blowing that one turn.)

I don't have that problem but I know that if the humidity level is just right, fog can set in with numerous people breathing in the car.
Try making sure that your climate control is set to refresh the air, and that the A/C light is on.
Yes, it's winter, but the A/C helps to remove excess moisture from the cabin.

There's definitely something about the coating on the glass in the G35 that's sensitive to moister / susceptible to fogging. I've a similar experience, depending on who the second person I add to the car anyway. I just turn the a/c onto defrost and problem goes away.

2007 G35x with problems too numerous to count by mreynolds

I have a 2007 G35x that makes a odd winding sound while driving. I have noticed that the sound does not appear in the 2 wheel drive model. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this sound also. Sound did not appear until about 3-4K miles and first did not appear until around 30-40 mph. Supposedly I have the only AWD model in Florida and dealer and Infiniti customer relations are no help. Also, have a whistling squeaking sound coming from the front passenger side of the car when I going anywhere above 85mph.

My 2008 G35x has approximately 3300 miles on it and I have not noted the sound yet. How many miles does your car have on it now? What other types of problems have you had with it?

Problems I have had with car: Rattle in dash, alignment off causing tires to cup, rear passenger door molding keeps coming loose, rust on trunk where water drains off, grill having black spots. The car has about 7200 miles. The winding sound I here sounds like the car is stuck in 4wheel drive. Does your car sound the same or as quiet as the regular Gs when you drive it, dajat?
