Yikes, once again, another blatant error in an Edmunds article. Worse yet, spending 30 seconds on your own site would prevent these kinds of careless mistakes (see http://www.edmunds.com/new/2007/mazda/mazda3/100786294/standard.html). "Unfortunately you won't find features like heated seats and signal mirrors on competitors like the Mazda 3, not even as options." Heated seats are indeed available (and standard!) on the Mazda 3 Grand Touring, though I can't argue with the signal mirrors comment. These types of errors are careless and simply unacceptable. Edmunds, send me an email if you ever want someone to edit and error check these articles.

Wouldn't cost much and whoever gets that job would probably love it and appreciate the cash for school or whatever. |

Its really bugging me that Edmunds and other car sites keep buying or test driving manual stick shifts. If 80-90% of the cars being bought are automatic for god's sake test drive an automatic! How did the rabbit handle in city traffic? An automatic handles very differently to a stick shift, and unless your testing a sports car, comparing the Mazda3 to the Rabbit saying its not sporty enough is completely pointless. People do like a fun ride, but they want to know how a car that is going to be in stop go traffic all the time will handle. This review didn't really tell you that. It seems more concerned with spining it round a circuit.

And sersiously, edmunds.com NEEDS some kind of stronger editing/peer review/content verification process before publishing. Quality control, people! ~alpha |

Check the sales figures at your local dealer. The majority of cars sold in this segment are still automatics (at least on the east coast). The Rabbit is being pushed as the ideal city car for city dwellers, not to people who want to know if it handles on rails. If it was the other way around I would agree with you that the car should be sold reviewed with a stick, but its not. Therefore they should buy more automatics to test. If they are getting the car from the manufactuer and not buying it themselves, they should at least ask for both to test, instead of a stick. If you're not stuck in traffic all the time, then you are extremely lucky.
