can anyone tell me where i can find the VIN numbers on my 32 ford there is a plate on the left side of the firewall (under the hood) but its blank

Try on the left side of the engine over the water inlet. Engine and VIN are the same.
 
Is this a Model A or Model B or V8?
 
If a Model A, VIN should read 4,830,807 to 4, 849,340
 
If a Model B, AB 5,000,001 on up
 
If a V8 18-1 up to --2,031,126
 
Also try left front pillar for a #, also ahead of front axle, also on transmission housing.
