I knew it was a steal; couldn't believe it was going to be accepted until she called me and had the keys! I'm going to link her to this page so she can read for herself.

Thanks!

what a pos. tons of squeeks and rattles, tire noise, transmission could not stay in gear.
it did ride pretty well though, had less wind noise than my explorer and seat was comfortable in a half hour ride.

What year? The new one, or the previous generation?

Me too. I have the cloth seats, with the seat heaters. Leather is nice, but leather in the south doesn't make much sense. Unless you like hot seats.

Major repairs - Acadia vs Honda Pilot by ccat130

Our Acadia was purchased new in May 2007. A year later I couldn't believe the catastrophic failures the vehicle had. Our history now includes a transmission rebuild, 4 transmission leak repairs, a failed batter, a failed air conditioner part that caused water to drain inside the car in pint size quantities, a failed water pump, and the last straw was that the engine just had to be removed for another major failure. All of the service has been through GMC dealers and warranted, but I have no confidence in the vehicle for my family to drive it. I tried to get help trading it from GM, but once they had my money that didn't care. This was a fully loaded $42,000 vehicle that has spent 8 weeks in the shop with the engine , transmission, water pump, AC system, and battery all having major failures. It is my problem now. I shouldn’t have to trade in a 2 year old car. It looks like that is going to cost me $10,000 out of pocket to trade it.

I would be extremely careful before looking at the GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse, Saturn Outlook, or Buick Enclave they are all the same vehicle.

Greetings everyone...I'm new to this discussion. I've looked at the following:

1. RAV4 Limited
2. CRV EX
3. Nissan Rogue SL
4. 2010 Equinox LS
5. Jeep Patriot Limited
6. Subaru Forester Limited

Prices are all pretty close. They all have some minor differences. RAV4, CRV and Subaru are all top rated...any thoughts?

My wife was all set to purchase a 2009 Subaru Forester Limited. I talked her into test driving the 2009 Forester XT Limited. For just a little bit more ($2000), you get a SUBSTANTIALLY higher performing engine. Once she test drove it, she was sold, and purchased the vehicle that day.

I would highly recommend test driving a Forester XT, before deciding on the base model.

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately, my only Subaru option is what they have left on the lot for the 2009's, offering low finance rates on the 09's that I would like to take advantage of. Also, the dealer knocked off $2100 the MSRP, which is well below invoice.
