Our new Journey is our 22nd new vehicle and I find it handles extremely well for what it is, also we're avg. 19 mpg all around . I've pushed it pretty hard on some back roads and find it very agile. I've not had it over the speed limit (65) and find it rides like a much heavier vehicle.. JMHO

Everything is believable to me, except how did they drive to get 10 in the city? CR does something weird, that's too low, especially for it to get 25 (!) in the city. They probably just cooked the numbers so they would be signifigcantly less than the Highlander.

I'm adding CR to my GRRR list. I thought I could trust them to have a non biased review, but I was wrong. How in the world did they get 10 mpg city. There is no way. We drive 95% city and are averaging 19, and that is by the old fashioned calculations, not the digital readout. I know the AWD is supposed to get a little lower, but 10 is rediculous. Mine has the sport-tuned suspesion with 19" wheels and it doesn't feel clumsy at all. One more thing...show me a third row crossover where the third row comfort is great for adults, and I'll show you a minivan.

I don't know how to upload pictures. So go look at the GMC Acadia, and the Ford Taurus X. Also the Mercedes Benz R-class. And all but the Benz gets better mileage. But we get your point.

Another alternative: Just rented a Mazda 5 and was shocked by the amount of room and versatility (Chrysler stole the in-seat cushion compartments from Mazda). I would say it had more room than the Journey despite being 10 inches shorter. Gas mileage was better, too.

The Taurus x yes. As for the others, I'd be perfectly willing to pay 10 grand more for a much nicer, more efficient, more spacious car (the Acadia). Oh yeah, and for 18k you won't get a new journey with a third row, either.

I don't know anything about the Tarus X or the Mercedes R, but I have heard and read a lot of feedback on the Acadia. Go to the Acadia forum under real world gas mileage. Most of the posters can't get over 15-16. Also, I just read that GMC will most likely not get a 2nd gen Acadia. Wrong move. Although too large for my needs, it was the best of the 3 (or 4, or 5 or...) lambdas. Bad move , GM.

Umm Taurus X YES. It was just a breif comparison, and the Ford clearly wins out.
