Keep the trade separate from your deal.

Dest. Chg is part of the invoice price.

Doc Fee is just profit.

Good back and re look some of the older posts on this board. You need to determine the invoice price of your deal and then how much below invoice is your price (before TTL and fees). The latest deals were $1.2-1.4K under invoice (after subtracting extra fees such as the Doc Fee).

Good Luck!

Doc fee is not always purely profit. The dealers have to rush through some of the paperwork for the title and this costs them money. They ALL charge for it. The difference is, how much. I know a dealership that only charges $50, which may be their actually cost (including express mail and labor costs of administration personnel at dealership). These documents generally go through the hands of three people at the dealership. However, when dealerships are charging more than this, especially when it is in the hundreds, then it certainly becomes profit. The bad news, not all dealerships will negotiate this charge. But, you should push them to.

S-Plan pricing. This is not negotiable. It is a price that is set by Mazda and would be the same for that car at ANY dealership you go to. The only way you get a price lower than S-Plan is from incentives, such as rebates and dealer cash. If you want proof, ask the dealer to show you their invoice for the vehicle and you will see where Mazda has printed this figure on the form.

J454ss,

We are talking pieces of PAPER that a computer generates and printer prints. I understand three is a cost associated with this process, but it should be minimum and Seloo is right to point out that we the customer should not help a dealer get rich on doc fees.

If you go through S-Plan pricing, you will find that dealer might put advertising fees (otherwise known as Assessment Fee) into the invoice. Then the dealer will tell you that since invoice is non-negotiable through S-plan, he can't do squat about this assessment fee.

I called up Mazda on this, and they looked at the VIN number of the car I wanted to buy and saw no "assessment" fee on the invoice, even though the dealer had it printed on the S-plan invoice. So you're kinda stuck with this fee if you're going through S-plan, although there are often unadvertised rebates (in my case there was $500 off).

Please post your deal in terms of $ under the invoice price.

07 CX-9 $0 under invoice. At invoice.

08 CX-9 $1487 under invoice. The new standard for this car is around $1K under invoice. Watch out for the extra fees!

Includes rebates (If there are any).

Paying extra fees (Doc Fee, etc...) are still having an impact on these deals.

Keep posting those good deals.

If there is no trade or additional costs; $1550 under invoice looks like a good deal.

Before your purchase please double check your numbers and report back to us once you close the deal.

Are there any rebates with this offer?

Good luck!
