Your next step now is to compare Doug to John's deal. (when all else is equal and down payments are the same.

If John got Doug's deal/ratio he would have paid:
30,000 divided by his LPDR of $91.51 = $327 a month instead of $350

If Doug got John's deal he would have paid
40,000 divided by his LPDR of $85.71 = 470 instead of 437.

So now you can see how you can systematically compare your deal to the demand market.

CX-9 Touring AWD w Bose/ Moon in NJ by guyinyourmind

Hi All,

Got this deal from the dealer
Touring AWD White/ Sand with Bose/ Moonroof
- MSRP 35360 (Same as edmunds)
- Invoice (according to dealers sheet) including the destination charge and NY assessment fee ($411) is $33,082
- Quoted: 31082 (2k off invoice, with 2.9% APR financing)
If I dont want the 2.9% APR, then he is willing to go 3k off invoice (30,082).
Is asking for a 295 processing fee besides the tax and title.

Any comments? If anyone wants, mail me for the dealer name and person name.

Does the invoice price match Edmunds invoice price?

$706 in fees?

What is the NY assessment fee? Please ask them to explain it.

If it is not part of the TT&Ls charge to the state and local Gov't it is most likely just a extra profit for the dealer fee.

$295 is high for a processing fee.

With the 2.9% that would be $1300 off invoice.

Get rid of the extra fees.

Good Luck!

I am looking at the Cx-9 as a replacement for my 05 odyssey. I like the sporty handling and styling, good reviews, etc. Also looking at the usual challengers, Outllok/Acadia (which I hear are slugs to drive by comparison, but I like the extra interior space). 2 questions:

I can find about 70 CX-9s (all versions) within a reasonable radius (I'm in RI) and a grand total of ONE has the DVD player. Are these simply not being imported or do they get snapped up, or both? My 3 kids will have withdrawal if I don't get a dvd, and aftermarket solutions seem weak at best.

I am reading about the amazing deals people are getting: more than $1000 below invoice, along with reasonable residuals and money factors on leases. If this is such a great car, why the huge discounts? Did Mazda just import too many? Are they not selling well?

I must be one of those unlucky people. I bought a 2008 Grand Touring model, which the salesmen assured me had BSM. I told him I didn't see any "dots" on the mirrors. Again he assured me all 2008 GTs had BSM. The day after purchasing the vehicle I met with the service department to have the Home Link interior mirror installed and asked if he would check to see if this car has the BSM system. It didn't. I am asking that they install the system or take the car back. They said it is impossible to install and it was doubtful they could take it back. The car was bought 3 weeks ago with 190 miles on it. I have limited my driving the car to keep mileage below 300. Any suggestions as to what recourse I may have.

Not all 2008 models have BSM: it came in as a "mid-year" option. Mine was build in December or so, and has it. Check the build date on your car just to make sure.

As for Mazda dealers, many don't know much about the CX-9, so you might want to check with another dealer about the possibility of installing BSM. Else, take it up with Mazda customer service (not sure they can do anything...)

BSM became available after fall, 2007. Check the door sticker to see when yours was made. BSM became a "must-have" option on 2008 only recently. If you have "proof" of what your salesman promised you, if I were you, I will take it up to the BBB to complain. BSM could be turned off. Make sure that yours was not turned off. There is a BSM button (together with a couple of other buttons) near your left knee when sitting in driver seat. If not, your CX-9 definitely did not come with BSM.

Please post your deal in terms of $ under the invoice price.

07 CX-9 $0 under invoice. At invoice.

08 CX-9 $1487 under invoice. The new standard for this car is around $1K under invoice. Watch out for the extra fees!

Includes rebates (If there are any).

Paying extra fees (Doc Fee, etc...) are still having an impact on these deals.

Keep posting those good deals.
