Nice job on the negotiated price. One question, did you say you were able to get the power lift gate (auto close hatch) without getting the Nav system or did you forget to list the Nav system? Thanks

Thanks, I knew it had to be to good to be true; to be able to get the power lift gate as a stand alone option and not have to get the Nav system. Oh well, hope you enjoy your new ride!

I want to share some knowledge with you all to "level your minds" when interpreting your deals against others it is called the "lease per dollar ratio (LPDR) ". The factor basically takes into account 5th grade division applied to graduate school economics. With all things being equal in your Down Payment. Here is how it is done:

LPDR = MSRP / lease payment per month.

The closer to 90 > the better. Use it to measure the total benefits gained vs. the total cost.

For instance I get a car for $30,000 and pay $350 a month my LPDR is 85.71. Which means for every dollar I pay is equal to $85 of the MSRP. You ultimately WANT to get more VALUE of the MSRP per dollar spent.

To "level" the down payment comparison in order to do the LPDR. add or subtract $27 per 1000 down (for a 36 month lease) from the variable being compared.

John's lease:
MSRP - 30,000
Down - 2000
Per month - 350
LPDR = 85.71

Doug
MSRP - 40,000
Down - 1000
Per month - 410 (add $27 to make down payment equal) = 437
LPDR = 91.51

Doug's lease is better as his benefits outweigh the cost of John. 1 dollar paid = $91 of the MSRP.

Your next step now is to compare Doug to John's deal. (when all else is equal and down payments are the same.

If John got Doug's deal/ratio he would have paid:
30,000 divided by his LPDR of $91.51 = $327 a month instead of $350

If Doug got John's deal he would have paid
40,000 divided by his LPDR of $85.71 = 470 instead of 437.

So now you can see how you can systematically compare your deal to the demand market.
