For GT AWD, you are mostly getting $500-$600 below invoice in SF Bay Area. I would skip some of the simple add-ons for after market (such as Roof Rails, All-Weather Floor Mats). Auto-dimming is difficult to DIY because GT with rain-sensing wiper cover is very hard (nearly impossible) to disassemble perfectly w/o breaking something. Mine does not come with one, I have been doing research on it. So far, no action yet. I have purchase many add-ons and plan to do them this weekend. You can get add-ons at mazdaparts.org or mazdagear.com (both are selling at nearly invoice price). The former has free shipping (no tax if out of state) for order more than $100.

On Blind-spot monitoring... Every CX-9 produced for 2008 has it. The $200 is included as an option. You cannot find a 2008 CX-9 GT w/o BSM. So, in that sense it is standard option, but on the invoice, it shows as an option.

If you want the all-weather mats, I would say the weathertech.com is the best. But I have the Mazda one. They are less expensive and they fit very well with the railing system of the 2nd and 3rd rows (snap-under the rails and lock in). The risk of "breaking something" is a real concern when installing stuff like roof-rack and auto-dimming mirrors. Be careful of the trim pieces of the roof-rack when trying to snapping them in. If you are not handy, ask for help from others. I have a GT AWD and I have installed the following - roof-rack with cross bars - bug deflector - side molding (from sportwing.com) - mudflaps (front/rear) - all weather mat - cargo net - cargo area mat My next plan is to install auto-dimming mirror, but I am researching the complexity. The dealer quoted me $477. With 15% off coupon, it costs $405. The parts together cost about $214 only. It is an easy money to make if I can figure out how to install it w/o breaking anything....(the one w/ rain-sensing is much tougher) |

We are planning to purchase a GT (FWD) in the next few weeks and wonder what's happening in the latest transactions.
