Well, I was able to lease an 09 GT (fully loaded with GT Assist Package, Moonroof/Bose, Roof Rack, Trailer Tow Hitch Receiver: MSRP for $40,860) for $36,932 (including TT&L and no money down, except first payment) at Brown's Mazda in Alexandria, VA. It's for 36 months at 12k/yr at $551/month. The MF is .00093 and residual is at 49%. This was back on December 27 and represents over $2,000 below invoice (because it included TT&L)!

I was quoted an "out the door" price of $27,400 (includes $1000.00 loyalty incentive) from a Maryland dealer for a 2008 CX 9 GT FWD with moon roof and blind spot monitoring. Is this a good deal?

2008 FWD Touring, $24,900 by chrisgoodall

Yesterday in Omaha, I got a blue 2008 CX-9 FWD Touring with backup camera, rear seat DVD and Bose, roof rails and all-weather mats for $11,000 off MSRP, plus the dealer's $199.50 documentation fee.

The vehicle has some hail damage on the chrome window trim which the dealer will replace for free. No other visible damage.

My wife had indicate her preferred options, in order of preference, were leather/heated, backup cam, DVD. She prefers NOT to have a sunroof.

All told, just under $25,000 out the door.

Wow, that sounds like a great deal. Makes me wonder if I could have gotten a better deal myself. I ended up paying $27,400 (includes $1000 mazda loyalty incentive) out the door for a 2008 CX-9 Grand Touring with moon roof, roof rails, wheel lock and all-weather mats. When I proposed this price over the internet the dealership accepted it immediately. I guess I should have bid lower. Mazda must be giving some crazy rebates for the dealerships to be unloading these so cheaply. Congratulations. What a great time to buy a car if you still have a job.

Wow. Congratulations on the great deal.

Hope that I get a similar deal in the area where I live. Will be too good to pass up.

Planning to Buy a Mazda CX9 GT by big_ta

I am from the bay area. I am considering a Mazda CX-9 VS the MB R350 (CPO). I am leading towards the Mazda, but I like the fit and finish of the Benz. At this point the price will be the deciding factor as many things are in this economy. I visited the dealer, but not have talked about the price. What are the local buyers spending for a GT with minimal package? I do not want nav. Do you think I can get a GT with 28K out of the door.

Also in the same thread, if you have MB information or any suggestion to buy one or the other, it will be greatly appreciated.

I bought mine from OakTree Mazda in San Jose.
I no longer see ads on 2008 models of CX9. So, not sure about recent deals.

Please take the expensive maintenance of MB into consideration.
For example, an axsile of brake pads change will run about $200-300 for Mazda,
and $1,000 for MB (why? For German vehicles, you need to replace pads and rotor together). A 60K maintenance of Mazda runs about $400, while it is beyond $1200 for MB. I owned a BMW 540ia for 10 years. I still remember the pains.
Great drive, though. No doubt!

I am kind of tilting towards the Mazda for the same reason.
But I am not getting all the good deals that you all are talking about.

Right now I have three offer, 32,500 for a GT with DVD/Nav. 31,588$ for a GT in Stormy Blue and just bose/moonroof from Oak Tree and 31K for a Red Mica GT with Nav from Hayward Mazda. For Touring I have been offered up to 26K for a Silver with DVD from Fremont Mazda, but I like the GT.

How are you liking the GT. Does the 20" gives you a very hard ride.

see earlier threads.
very good, but common deals were $7000 off msrp on sport, $8000 off msrp on touring, $9000 off msrp on GT.
great deals were another $1000 off.
rarely you'd see $2000 off.
so for a GT, you should expect and get $10,000 off.
all above is for 2008s.
tax title and other MANDATORY fees extra.

Last week I bought a Liquid Platinium FWD Grand Touring with the assistance package (nav), rear entertainment system, and Homelink/compass mirror (plus wheel locks, cargo net and mat) for $27,700 before mandatory fees. That included $1800 for a trade-in. Without the trade-in it was $10,000 off MSRP. I was hoping to get another $1000 off with the Mazda loyalty cash but I guess they kept that money.
