the best deal i was able to get was 9200 off from an msrp 40310 cx-9. didn't seem like the best possible deal so i passed
What car in this class can you get this type of discount on that offers as much as the CX-9? What are your alternatives?
These discounts will not be around forever. If you wait too long, you may find yourself paying $5000 - $6000 more for a comparable 2009. Does that sound smart?
Common people wake up. $9,000 off a popular Japanese SUV? That is unheard of!

What made you decide to go with the Sport? I have been talking with another dealer today and they have offered me a Grand Touring 2008, Bose/moonroof, for $27,711. He says he has no room for negotiation. I am thinking of offering him 27k and prepared to walk away if he can't do it. What do you think? He said with Mazda loyalty he could sell it for 26,711, but we don't own a Mazda. Thanks for any input.

That seems like a really good deal on a GT.
We got the Sport because my kids think the cloth seats are more comfortable. Also, my husband liked the exterior color of the Sport better (it was gray, the Touring was white and we already own a white car). I like to keep things simple. The less buttons and gadgets the better for me!

Kelzz3, where are you located? Seems like a great deal. I'm in the market for a Touring model - did your dealership have any 2008 Tourings?
Thanks

10K Off MSRP +1K Off Owner Loyalty for a CX9 Sport

Just got my CX9 FWD Sport for 11K Off MSRP. I was at the dealership just for an oil change on my 2000 MPV with 104,000 miles. I went to the showroom and looking at the CX9 and the sales manager asked me if I was interested and I asked him if they are really taking 10K Off MSRP and he told me yes right off the bat. Then I told him to write the numbers.
CX9 FWD Sport MSRP $ 30,235 -10 K - 1K = $19,235 - $4000(Trade-in)=$15,235 +TTL. Since they don't have the car they charge me $500 and another $500 for processing and documentaion. I think I got a good deal.
I called other dealerships local and out of state that have the car in stock and they are quoting me $4000 to $5000 more. The dealer is in Louisville Kentucky(Oxmoor Mazda)

Zoomme, congrats sounds like you made a great deal. When I called though things seemed a little off. The guy said he could get my car (I was looking at) and upgrade it for 400 dollars more than my last quote. Then when I asked for a vin he wouldn't give it to me. When I asked to at least put the car in writing he sent me a description of a 2009 FWD. I then told him we originally talked about a AWD and he said he couldn't do the deal and it would be 2k more. At that point I was done. He did say he could still beat my offer by 500 dollars all he needed to do was find the car. I felt more comfortable with the other dealership so I decided not to do it, because again he would have to get the car and there was no proof of what he was getting.
You did get a great deal but for me I don't think I could trust these guys. Thanks for sending the information though. Have fun with your new CX-9!

Hello Zomme,
Can you share what interest rate you received? And was it with Mazda?
Thanks,

Bestdealoh, At first I'm also hesitant to do the deal because the car was not in stock and thinking I'm getting a great deal and they told and assure me they can find the car with the specs I wanted.I signed the purchase order with the VIN number and They took my trade and gave me a loaner. After a week they called me and said my car is ready for pickup. When I arrived, First thing I checked was the VIN Because there was also another CX9 same color like mine ready for pickup too.The VIN # they gave me was different from the actual car and they just made another purchase order ready for me to signed.Overall I was happy dealing with the dealership in the end for getting me the same spec.
