Turns out I paid 100 under invoice, because their invoice price was inflated by $400 for some reason and I didn't know it. So there was a quick mention of me being part of the X-plan during our negotiating, but I did not pursue that because I mistakenly thought it was only for Ford vehicles. So we did the deal, I've had the car for 2 weeks, and now the dealer is pestering me for an S-plan PIN. I'm thinking: 1- we never did an S-plan deal. Was never shown an S-plan price, never signed anything for an S-plan deal. 2- I'll be darned if I'm going to give the dealer a PIN for them to make more money on a commission when it appears they boned me on invoice price So I'm wondering how much of a commission they stand to make on S-plan, and was planning on using that as a bargaining chip to recover the money I thought I was going to save at under invoice. Clear as mud?? Me thinkey that the dealer isn't being above board on this one... so I'm trying to build my position.

Since you never agreed on the S-Plan, or consented to buy based on S-Plan, there is no need to give them a PIN.

My gut is saying no. I was not shown the invoice.... which is why I'm asking questions now, and thinking that my deal was not an S-Plan deal. Thoughts? |

| Our local dealer is offering $10000 off of MSRP and was wondering if you think there is any more room to negotiate. It seems like there would be by the deals mentioned on here but other say this is a terrific deal. Opinions? | |

Replying to: derrickson (Dec 18, 2008 9:10 am) I bought the Sport, and didn't get that much off MSRP. Anyone know anything about the "Assessment" cost being a valid invoice item or no?

Sites like Edmunds do not track such fees because they vary from region to region. If you go to price out a car here on Edmunds, you will see a link to "advertising fees" and their explanation as to what they are, and why they do not track them. |
