The dealership I am dealing with are claiming that the $7250 dealer cash on the GT is not true. Is there anywhere I can go to see this number please?

I thought it was $4250 dealer cash and about $3k in "markup." Essentially the same thing, but that may be the dealer's argument

Sorry, can you explain "mark up"? I assume this is all still relative to invoice. I had been planning on offering 7250 under invoice and then being prepared to pay $500 over that.

Dealer I am working with in NY is saying the same thing.
I'm within $200 of invoice on '08 AWD GT (about $8,500 off MSRP), but that is only accounting for the $4250 rebate.
And it has been a real struggle to get to this price. No chance they will bite on this extra $3K off.

Thanks to everyone who has posted on this forum - very informative and was helpful during the purchase process.

Just bought a 08 GT AWD over the weekend:
sticker price: $40k
options: moonroof, assistance pkg.
purchase price:$30k + TTL

I think there are still a few 08 GT AWD in and around the Boston area though color combination etc. might be more difficult.

On the 09 GT AWDs, most of the quotes that I was getting were around $35.5 to $36 K so I decided to go with the 08s instead.

S-Plan pricing by Hurlba

Hey guys, I'm confused and can use some help.

Should I even bother approaching a dealer for an S-Plan price, or can one do better negotiating on your own? Does anyone know how much commission a dealer gets for an S-Plan sale?

S-Plan is invoice on the car, and you get any incentive available. If you get the S-Plan price, and it is submitted as an S-Plan deal, then there is no negotiating on the price. A dealer cannot deviate from that price if the car is reported sold as an "S-Plan" deal, or the dealer gets in real big trouble.

Also, as an S-Plan customer, you are supposed to inform the participating dealer that you are right off the bat, as per the Partner Program rules. Your company, or whoever you are getting the PIN from tells you that.

Feel free to do what you think will give you the best deal. It ultimately depends on what the dealer is willing to do. Why don't you submit an Internet inquiry to a few area dealers and see what you get, and take it from there. That's my advice. You may get a better price then S-Plan that way. Who knows!

thanks, Avi.

Here's the kicker, I'll try to make a long story short. I already bought the car, and thought I was paying $500 under invoice through normal negatiation. Turns out I paid 100 under invoice, because their invoice price was inflated by $400 for some reason and I didn't know it. So there was a quick mention of me being part of the X-plan during our negotiating, but I did not pursue that because I mistakenly thought it was only for Ford vehicles. So we did the deal, I've had the car for 2 weeks, and now the dealer is pestering me for an S-plan PIN. I'm thinking:
1- we never did an S-plan deal. Was never shown an S-plan price, never signed anything for an S-plan deal.
2- I'll be darned if I'm going to give the dealer a PIN for them to make more money on a commission when it appears they boned me on invoice price

So I'm wondering how much of a commission they stand to make on S-plan, and was planning on using that as a bargaining chip to recover the money I thought I was going to save at under invoice. Clear as mud??

Me thinkey that the dealer isn't being above board on this one... so I'm trying to build my position.

How was their invoice inflated $400? What $400 item was on there that was not supposed to be? Were you shown th invoice?

Well, you have the car in your driveway, so what's done is done. I would not give them any PIN. S-Plan comm is not that much. It's a few hundred bucks. Since you never agreed on the S-Plan, or consented to buy based on S-Plan, there is no need to give them a PIN.

I just found out today that the $400 difference is attributable to "Philadelphia Assessment". They claim it is part of the invoice price.

When I look at KBB, Edmunds, and the S-Plan web site, that is not figured into the invoice. So I'm wondering if it truly a dealer invoice cost or not. My gut is saying no.

I was not shown the invoice.... which is why I'm asking questions now, and thinking that my deal was not an S-Plan deal.

Thoughts?
