I've been quoted two wildly different labor costs from two local dealers. Dealer A quoted $200 and Dealer B quoted $365. Both dealer service centers admitted to never having done this installation before, so should I be wary? Thanks! ***whoops...just realized I posted in the cx-9 forum by mistake. Sorry!!**

Let's be honest, here is where the dealership makes its money: uninformed customers (big profit margin) somewhat informed customers (good profit margin) informed customer (some profit margin) savvy customer (little to no profit margin) Additionally, most dealers average $1500 on each used car. With all the factory to dealer cash and sales bonuses, it all averages out or they would not keep the doors open! Do not forget the profits from financing, extended warranties, parts, service, paint and body, etc... It was not too long ago that dealers were getting close to MSRP for a CX-9. Dealers must take the good along with the bad!

That is why mostly all of you looking to buy a CX-9 for $10K off MSRP are not having luck, because the money is just not there. A real business never survives by taking money from other departments in the business. They all need to make money. Until Obama takes the White House, we are sill a Capitalist nation, and this is how business is done.

I don't like seeing businesses selling inventory below cost, in the long run it hurts us all, nor I like being offered $6K off Kelley Blue Blook on a $19K trade, but as you pointed out, that is how capitalism works (for us not in the inner circles of banking and politics.) I hope you make up on 3s, 5s, and 6s, because the bleeding on CX-9s 08s will continue for several more months.

They are still a hot ticket item in my area, as are many other 7 passenger crossovers, particularly the Highlander. We have never been worried about selling the CX-9's, even in this terrible market we are in. To be honest, the CX-7's are more of a concern. The 3's and 6's are good sellers right now. What stinks is the 3's really are not too profitable. But, as mentioned in a previous post "Dealers have to take the good with the bad". I can't disagree with that. We just wish there was more good then bad!! I think that goes for everyone everywhere right now. We are all just trying to get through this tough tough time. Seems we all have something in common. I really hate politics, however, tis the season. That is why I made the comment I did. |

Mazda gives really good installation instructions with the fog lights (and every other accessory), and a properly trained tech should do the job within that time. |

| I was quoted an out the door price of $31,500 for a GT with moonroof/Bose, Blindspot monitoring, Homelink/compass/autodimm. I thought it sounded pretty good and was wondering what others thought. We have talked to SEVERAL dealers! Most of them are not dealing much. They keep telling us business is good, and they are having no problems selling the CX-9. No one came down 10,000 off MSRP. We found that it was closer to 8-8.5K. If you wanted the GT with Navi they were getting closer to 10K. We called some dealers and named our price and they never called us back. We finally found a dealer we really like. Very nice guys! I rather give them our business. | |

Drive to lot after hours, when there are no salesman to distract you, and check the registration sticker on the model you want and also on the other models on the lot. If they are indeed selling well they should all be registered within the last 3 months. |

Has anyone purchased a 2008 CX-9 (any model) on either the east or west coast? If so, what was your "all-in" discount? Thanks, James
