Replying to: lockloop (Oct 24, 2008 7:35 am) Hi lock... quick fyi, i was one of the ones who received $10k off offers on 08 cx-9's in houston, HOWEVER, that offer expired back on Labor Day weekend (end sep/beg oct). After that, those same dealers changed their promo to $9k off. they claimed it was due to a 'change in incentives'. I stopped pricing the cx-9 after that, and switched to the cx-7, which i ended up getting for only $17k ($7k off msrp). I hear ya (and agree) about the highlander. i shopped those pretty hard as well. i just wasn't willing to fork over the extra several thousand they were asking (aka Toyota premium) compared to the zoom-zoom mobiles...

Replying to: jay13 (Oct 24, 2008 7:59 am) i went ahead & bought the 10yr/100k "total care" ext warranty when i purchased mine. for the cx-7, the cost was $1300, and that's with a $100 deductible. think they had the $0 deductible for $1800-ish. the 'total care' is the closest all-inclusive warranty they offer. fyi, i believe there's a separate forum to discuss mazda warranty info... |

People keep asking how do I get $10K off. Some earlier posts explain this but I summarize again below: 1. Dealers should start by dropping from MSRP to "invoice" that will take about $2500 off a Sport, $3000 off a Touring, and $3500 off a Grand Touring. (You can find the invoice price on Edmunds). 2. Dealers should then take off another $4000-$4500 in dealer cash back. YOU CAN'T GET THIS AND 0% FINANCING. It's an either or, and usually you'll be better off taking the cash back -- unless you're own financing is wway high. You can use the Edmunds calculator to decide which is better for you. 3. SOME DEALERS will give you up to another $2000 off. This is based on whether they meet sales goals and get incentives back from Mazda for meeting those goals. NOT ALL DEALERS WILL MEET THESE GOALS, SO NOT ALL DEALERS WILL BE OFFERING THE XTRA $2000 -- ALSO, THEY MAY TRY TO KEEP SOME OF THE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES (MY DEALERS SAID "OH THE BONUS WE GET IS AROUND $250 PER CAR". DEALERS ARE MORE LIKELY TO GIVE YO THIS AT THE END OF THE MONTH WHEN THE KNOW OR THIK THEY WIL MEET THEIR GOALS. So, for a Sport -- $2500 + $4500 + $2000 = $9000 (w/o bonus $7000) for a Touring -- $3000 + $4500 + $2000 = $9500 (w/o bonus $7500) for a Grand Touring -- $3500 +$4500 + $2000 = $10000 (w/o bonus $8000) Hope this helps -- as always the specific options of the car may make a dealer give more or less depending on whether they think it will sell sooner or later. |

Replying to: nswartzb (Oct 24, 2008 8:27 am) I have one dealer in LA that will to go from 34K(MSRP) to 25.5K on a 2008 FWD CX-9 with moonroof but i have told him i i want the 8.5K off the s-plan price of 31.4K for a price of 22.9K. Is that reasonable? |

Replying to: derrickson (Oct 24, 2008 8:08 am) thanks for all your help. I would have pull the trigger if I can get $9k off. Unfortunately, I only get a $8.4k and another $8.3k off, everybody else (including Russell and Smith and Munday) are not even close to that. We are getting closed to November and Consumer Report will have the newest report out (with statistics on 2008 vehicles), I am going to wait. |
