Iluvmy...

Ahh. So the tire gremlins have left you alone.

I bet the Lancer looked fantastic after the dealer clean up. Didn't know that the Lancer's were experiencing lane drift problems. I remember that Nissan and Acura had severe tire wear problems on certain models some years ago. Not quite the same as lane drift, but the solution was revising the camber and toe in/toe out (if memory serves me correctly). At any rate it was a fix that the dealer had to perform after their company engineers figured out the solution.

We've got three Mitsu's in the house. My wife drives an 04 Montero Limited, my daily car is an 03 Outlander XLS AWD, my every once in awhile car is a 92 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo AWD (i.e. Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX)

Oldfarmer, I like those new commercials too. We'll get to see even more of them since Arena football season starts soon.

I like those Montero's, the big one and the Sport. I've looked at used ones, but they seem to hold their value OK and I don't need another SUV with the high gas prices and all.

Theres a mini-series called "Long Way Round" that was released as a DVD. Ewan Macgregor and another guy ride BMW motorcyles around the world with Mitsu Montero's as chase vehicles. They comment on camera how they can't believe what these stock grocery getters can do off road.

The car I saw in front of my dealership the other day turns out to be an EVO X not a Lancer Raliart. I know this for sure because they put "EVO X" in 2 foot letters on the side for guys like me who can't tell the difference. Still looks very hot.

Actually I'm glad it's not a Raliart. At about 27K the Raliart might be in my price range if I sold everything I own. The 33K for the EVO would cost me a kidney.

Oh, you're speaking for me too. And, that Prototype S (Ralliart wagon) will definitely get me in trouble if I steer any where a Mitsu dealership when it arrives. It would make a mighty fine replacement for my old outlander.

"...my old outlander..."

I'm starting to see more Outlanders around here lately. They look pretty nice to me (and I'm not a SUV fan). Some of these crossovers seem awfully tiny but the Outlander seems to have some room in it.

Where I am I see quite a few Endeavors and even some Montaros.

BTW, why did Mitsu stop making the Diamonte? That car looks good inside and out.

Yeah. I really liked the Diamante as well. We just needed more cargo space at the time so we went with the SUV. Mitsu just couldn't move enough of them to justify it's existence. I think 2004 was the last model year for it. It was actually made in their Australian facility which was just recently closed.

I've had a change of opinion about the re-styled Galant. I saw more pics of it at Mitsu's website and I really really like it.

Lastly, looks like Mitsu is gonna try and take advantage of the weak dollar by ramping up production at the Normal, IL facility and increasing US exports to China. Here's the article link as well as an excerpt click here

"Mitsubishi Motor plans to export U.S.-made cars to China and the Middle East, and expand its exports to Russia, while Nissan plans to expand exports to the Middle East.

Mitsubishi Lancer and EVO X. Evidently in the UK they have been praised for their sound design and great looks already, but, it's cool to see that the appraisers there are putting the new compact's resale values at all-time highs. Mitsubishi's hard work is paying off, gentlemen! Take a look-see.

I have thought these same thoughts as I drive and enjoy my '08 Lancer GTS but it is really nice to hear from those in the industry, including the UK.

Great post. I just read the article at the link that you posted. This really shows you just how biased Consumer Reports is against Mitsu.

"...This really shows you how biased Consumer Reports is against Mitsu..."

WHAT?! CR is biased against Mitsu? NO WAY! Just because they called the Eclipse "The most disappointing new car of 2006" and said it was the least fun to drive? Just because they said the Galant was an OK car competing with better ones? Just because they made snide remarks about Lancer and Outlander and Endeavor and...

For CR there is Honda and Toyota and nothing else.

magazine. They make good...ummm...hamster fodder. I have never seen a more biased, inconsequential piece of garbage magazine than Consumer Reports. I already went through all of their crap with my last two new cars, a '99 Kia Sephia and a 2001 Kia Sportage 4X4. They were truly very good vehicles and the cost-to-own them was very reasonable. And guess how Clodsumer Retorts treated Kia? Right. I find their peddlings to be mere drivel, though.

You're right, if it ain't Hon-Duh or Thai-ot-a with Clodsumer Retorts it ain't worth a toot. Their product is baseless and lame. Very, very lame.

OTOH-Mitsubishi is a bright star on the rise, gentlemen.
