"That's my car...without that silly spoiler of course..."
Yeah. That's a whole lot of spoiler.
Has your wifey been driving it any? The weather is changing, she might want to put some miles on it before winter sets in.

"...Has your wifey been driving it any?..."
Mrs. farmer drove it exactly once. Proclaimed it "Too much car for me" and now only rides in it. I get my teasing in by taking corners at 60 that she takes at 30 in her PT Crusier.
As for winter, I've just bought a new (to me) 22 year old van which will be my winter beater and spring farm hauler. The Eclipse will never go out in the snow and salt.

Mitsubishi's October sales down 48% to under 3900 units.
This is really bad.

Definitely not good. I have my eye on a 2010 Outlander but they aren't due out for another week or more and even then I won't buy right away.

Hopefully, the new models like the i MiEV and it's gasoline powered twin the i car will help turn things around or at least stop the bleeding. I'm not sure what's taking the gasoline powered i to get here though. Seems like they would introduce it first (like in 2010 for the 2011 model year) and then release the electric version (in 2011 for the 2012 model year).

I for one can't understand why Mitsu doesn't sell more cars. I am very happy with my Eclipse. I recently sat in a Dodge Challenger and the new Camaro and they didn't have any more room despite being much larger and very much heavier. Other cars I've driven just can't compare when it come to the smooth power of a Mitsubishi product.
Everyone I know who owns any Mitsubishi vehicle raves about it.
So what's the problem? Do they not spend enough ad money or is it the media bashing? I wonder.

I wonder why they don't sell more either. The Outlander is a cool, unique small SUV and the Lancer is one of the best looking small cars out there.

Not enough dealers?
Australia has about 21.4 million people and "200+" Mitsubishi dealers.
The US has about 304 million people and "500+" Mitsubishi dealers (that was in '07).
Then again, Subaru "only" has about 600 US dealers. Can't find a number for Suzuki off-hand.

I think it goes beyond dealers. If they only sold 3900 car for the month of October that means 3900 div -- 500 = averages 8 cars per dealer per month. How can you pay your sales people, parts people and even keep your service dept open, not even counting overhead with that kinda of volume. The Mitsubishi plant in Normal has to be all but done since most of those volumes sold did not even hardly include the Gallant ,Eclipse and Endeavour. This is very sad for all us Mitsubishi owners
