Was it the XE or XR that was tested? by jmfreshour

I'm still trying to figure out which trim was actually tested. The headline reads that the XR was tested. But there are mentions of the XE trim throughout the article, sometimes right after mention of the XR trim. The technical data appears to be from the XR. Even the picture gallery captions flip-flop between XR and XE. At any rate, the Aura seems finally ready to compete in the mid-size sedan market.

Does anyone proofread these articles before posting them?

This Aura was a XR model, not a XE. This is clearly muddled by the author.

Also his specs for the Accord's V6 are all wrong. It has 244hp and 211 torque, significantly LESS than the Aura XR.

I hope I'm not the only person who thinks the new Camry is truly ugly, and Toyota is not as much of a quality appliance as it used. That being said, I own a 1999 Camry LE 4-cyl. I much prefer the Saturn as far as looks... and price. I wonder how it wil hold up in the long run.

The Accord Hybrid has 253hp and 232 ft. lbs. of torque. They probably should have mentioned what model they were comparing.

I think styling is a moot debate, but I find the Camry very attractive, especially the rear with its Lexus GS-esque sculpting. I would agree that that Toyota has seen the dilemma of rapid growth - fallen quality. Thankfully, the initial issues with the Camry have been worked out, and really the remaining item is materials choice and fit and finish, which is inconsistent between models, at best.

Want to check out a car that will surprise you? The new Altima is really sharp, very room, and quite powerful. However, I was SHOCKED to see literally DOZENS of new Altimas at the Budget rental lot when I was in Detroit for the Auto Show on the 11th.

One question for you, arumage, what do you mean you prefer the Aura's price? To which Camry?

I wish that edmunds.com would implement a better editing/proofing process - the trim line inaccuracies here made the article confusing as heck. And, apples should be compared to apples; I don't know if the author meant to cite the HAH horsepower figures, or the Accord V6, but it should have been the V6.

An Aura with leather and traction control w/ 6-disc changer is $27k vs. $29k for the Camry. Even the outdated and less powerful Accord is $400 more with the same options.

They were probably 4-cyl Altimas. The only problem I see with the new Altima is the recommendation for premium gas.
