My '08 Avalon Ltd. has the Sunroof Wind Deflector. I never ride with the sunroof open; I just open it for a couple of minutes to let the hot air out after being parked in the sun. Under those circumstances I was wondering if I needed the Wind Deflector. Does it create drag and extra noise? I do like to keep the slide open when the sun is not too high. Replying to: tfelton (Jun 23, 2008 1:42 pm) I took mine off because it rattles when going over bumpy surfaces. After I took it off (it is extremely easy to remove), I noticed that the gasket on the leading edge left noticeable marks on the roof. I washed it and then waxed the area and it's no longer noticeable.

Replying to: tfelton (Jun 23, 2008 1:42 pm) Well I did it. It was extremely easy to take off and clean up. I never liked the looks of it because it broke up a smooth roof line. Replying to: doobre (Jun 23, 2008 1:01 am) but in the 2008 the gear changes up automatically to the next gear... much nicer IMO   What's the point of having the manual control then? You have to really not be paying attention to the car to bounce it off the rev limiter. IMO if you do this on a regular basis leave in auto.

It just happened last week at 6500 miles and after 6 months of ownership. Has anyone else had this happen? The dealer looked at it today and determined that the radio was bad and needed replacing. It was ordered and should be here next week.

The '08 Avalon Ltd. is supposed to have 12 speakers with the JBL audio system. I can only find 10: 1 in the center of the dash, 1 ea. on the 2 front posts, 1 ea. on the 2 front doors, 2 ea. on the 2 rear doors, and 1 in the center of the rear deck. Where are the other 2? Someone on another post mentioned 3 on the rear deck but I don't see them. Also, I think they may only be active if the "surround" setting is switched on. Replying to: tjc78 (Jul 11, 2008 10:59 am) I looked again. There's nothing that's obviously a speaker showing. There are 3 black boxes (3.5x3x4) but they're in positions that don't suggest they're speakers. The speakers must be small (flat) and between the rear deck cloth and the metal frame underneath in the trunk where the sunshade is hidden.
