lol. well another thing would to put mid 80's early 90's f150 running gear/drivetrain. yeah, its asking for trouble, but is it possible? still on a ranger ext cab 4x4 frame/body?

is it possible for a 97 ford ranger motor can work for a 90? seem's like a large jump... not sure if it will work or not, let me know thanks

my basic 06 rangers was totaled. what year and other auto makes like the mazda i'm told, will the engine and automatic transmission fit into ?

Youre in luck because Ford has done dick with the Ranger in years. Depending on your configuration, which you didnt mention, you could as far back as 1996ish

sorry, its what you they call a " basic " no XL or any of that. 2.3L 4 cylinder automatic. a tin can with wheels.the insurance company totaled it so can't use the body any longer. the cab was caved in but the rest of the truck is brand new. only 5700 miles on it driven by a 70 old. highway miles at that too. bet he never got over 60 mph in it. he's my pop.

will the engine and trans.(4cyl.stick) 96 be compatable with 89 (4cyl.stick ) Please advise.
  Both vehicles are ranger pickups GF
