My faithful '86 Toyota Camry hatchback finally threw in the towel (alternator gave out, and a couple of other problems). I've been trying to find a charity that's willing to accept it for salvage but haven't had any success. Do you have any suggestions for best way to dispose of the car? Replying to: aeffort (Feb 15, 2007 6:30 pm) Call the National Kidney Foundation or look up your local chapter online. They are taking our 94 Camry, which has failed transmission & broken axle. They pick up (tow) the car from your home, and auction it. The funds they raise by auctioning the cars help dialysis & transplant patients. They will mail you a receipt for the amount your car sold for, and you can write it off on your taxes! You can get rid of your car and help someone else at the same time! Good Luck!
