Until a month or so ago, the Passat wagon wasn't available with the 6-speed manual. That has changed, except that it is by what VWOA calls "Sold Order Only." That means it's a factory build, with an 8-12 week lead time. Expect to pay a deposit. You will not find this on the VWOA web site, nor on Edmunds. The model code is 3C55K2, and this has only been available since 10/20/06, so YOUR dealer may not have heard of it, so be persistent.   In answer to several inevitable questions, yes, the MT wagon can be ordered in any configuration and with any accessories in the VWOA catalog, except that it's only available in the 2.0T model. And, yes, you do get a price that reflects $1075 less for the MT, just like the sedan.

Good news! Now all they need to do is bring back the TDI and I may be back in the market ... I have an '03 wagen due for a change in '08 and had discounted the B6 wagen up until now ...

I hear you, and I'm right there with you, except I think what we're both after is still 2-3 years off, and I need a car in August. I'm not willing to buy the residual lease on the SAAB, because a lease on a Passat will be several thousands cheaper. And that's what I'm thinking at this point- a 3-year lease, by which time the TDI Passats should be here. I think they may bring the Jetta / Rabbit diesels here in '08, but I'll really be surprised if the Passats arrive before that.

I placed my order today for the 2.0T wagon (non-base)with MANUAL transmission, the pricing was:   $25,730 - MSRP   $23,332 - No Haggle Price from Dealer   Options I added:   $310 - Rear Side Air Bags ($350 MSRP) $199 - Heated Front Seats ($225 MSRP) $120 - Mud Flaps (Port Installation) ($160 MSRP)   + Tax, Title, License & $99 dealer service fee   Now all I have to do is wait!
