| What is the PMC? when this would go out would it cause the fuse to blow? before this happend we had no problem starting it. It would start fine then when you go to put it in gear the fuse would blow and engine would die all at the same time. then when you tried to start it with out putting a new fuse in would just crank over, put a fuse in it would idle the fuse would blow and so on. | |
| I read that you can clear pcm code by disconecting battery for five min. to reset the pcm (computer).link title, i think the pcm runs the engine F/A mixture and so on. PCM=powertrain control module, very possible reason fuse #11 blows. could be bad. | |

our 1995 jeep wrangler--4 cyl, stick quit suddenly while going down the road. There is no spark or fuel. We have replaced the pick-up in the dist. and the crank sensor--still nothing-any suggestions other than the ecm. Since all these parts I am throwing at this thing are electrical they are expensive and not returnable. thanks-Shirley

While either CPS could have been the cause, it could also be something as simple as a high resistance connection or a broken wire. Sometimes it's better to pay to have it diagnosed by a specialist with the equipment to do it. Just a thought, but have you checked for codes yet?

i'm looking for a simple part, a 5" circular flat plastic cover for the a/c blower motor for my 1993, the dealers say it's out of stock/no longer carried. the a/c blower motor is alligned by and pivots in the center of this plastic disk, can't use the a/c without it. it is accessible from inside the car, just under the a/c unit, on the bottom side of the a/c bloser assembly, spins right off anyone have a junked a/c unit with this part? any ideas where to track down a junkyard replacement part???

Replying to: dustie1 (Dec 21, 2008 1:03 pm) Ah, so it does have a spark and fuel? I'm also confused about your #11 fuse problem. According to the Factory Service Manual (FSM), location 11 contains a circuit breaker rather than a fuse (so it will reset if tripped) and that circuit is for the wipers and washers. As for the codes, if you don't have a code reader or scanner you can put the PCM into self diagnostic mode and it will flash any retained codes to you using the 'Check Engine Light'. For instructions on how to do that, and a list of all possible codes, CLICK HERE. |

yeah.. just the other day while i was coming home from work. my jeep decided it was time to call it quits for the day. in other words it just stalled out and i couldnt get it refired. so i called my stepdad so i could get it towed back to my house and either let him check it out. or let my friend who is a mechanic check it out. wat im wondering is what could be the problem. me and my friend already changed the ignition coil, checked the fuel lines and was about to change the distributor cap but are unsure if these will help now my jeep is an 89 jeep wrangler 6 cylinder 4.0L any ideas?
