#202 of 216 Water Leakage....Tires
Nov 08, 2010 (12:22 pm)
I own a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Sport...Its great...unless I have the hard top on it..and it RAINS!!!!...I leaks to the point I don't dare put the carpet in...for it gets SOAKED...and winter is coming here in MAINE.....Anyone got any ideas...The soft top is Leak Free...Imagine that Uh????
As for the orginal tires I have 30x9.5x15...Wranger Goodyear tires..I got 71,236 on the orginal tires...They are GREAT,but Goodyear in their infinite wisdon....they don't make this tire any longer... they changed it to a SRA tread design....and they don't wear as good or even close.....Kind of the same ole' story...if it wears good ....don't make more,,,,they don't make any money($$$$) with tires that perform as these did....Ohh #$%^ its raining again............

if the Jeep came with the dual top package, the soft top is not actually fixed to the Jeep, but the hard top does need to be removed if you want to be able to use your cargo area. However, removing the hard top should have zero affect on whether it leaks or not. Did you buy your Jeep from a Jeep dealer? If so, they should know what they are doing now that this model with the Freedom top has been out for over three years. I have an '07 Unlimirted X with the dual tops and I have NEVER (knock on wood) had a leak with either roof. Also, if you don't want your soft top, don't give it back to the dealer...sell it to back them or to someone else, as they are expensive and there is a market for them.

I have the Goodyear SRA on my 2008, with 54,000 miles on them and by the looks of the treads, another 15,0000 or 20,000 or better to go. It's amazing how rotating the tires regularly and keeping the proper air pressure in them will make them last for many miles

Absolutely correct. I always rotate mine while the oil is draining, i.e. every three thousand miles.

I did buy my Jeep from a dealer. You would think they'd know what they're doing! But all went well. They removed it and so far no leaks. Thank you so much for getting back to me.
#208 of 216 Replacement parts?
Sep 30, 2011 (10:02 am)
Hey everyone...hoping someone out there might be able to help
So typically I use quadratec for a lot of my custom aftermarket upgrades/replacements...the like. However I am replacing some of the soft top hardware components and quadratec only sells the 3rd rear bow assembly for 97-02 models. I own a 2006 Model. So I called the dealership up and they want nearly $600.00 for a steel tube of metal that probably cost less then 100 bucks to produce. Anyone know of any other sources for this part? (preferably for under 600$ lol). Im more then willing to buy it as a custom fab piece...as long as the price is reasonable....
#209 of 216 2003 SOFT TOP REPLACEMENT
Oct 09, 2011 (2:03 am)
I own a 2003 Wrangler X that is in need of a new soft top. I was offered a 2002 top in great condition, but was told this would not fit due to model year changes...Can anyone confirm or deny this??

I have a 2011 Sahara unlimited also. It has been a night mare with the passenger side leaking all the time. I wish I would have done more research about this problem. I have taken my truck to the service dept. about 10 times and no one can fix this problem. We should do a class suit. I finally reached out to chrysler and they are trying to help me.
