Ever since the 50s GM is always been on the verge of steam, turbine, or electric power. It never happens.

I disagree.....The VUE EV will be available in 2010 which is 3 years away. 62vettefp posted a article from GM today in the automotive news & views GM Market Share forum today
The GM EV's are only 3-4 years away.

Go back and read 50ss 60s 70s pop mechanics etc the product is ALWAYS 3 years away

I'm old enough to remember the GM Futurama exhibit at the 1964 World's Fair in NY. Quite a bit of stuff predicted there that we're not realy any closer to 33 years later.

I recall waiting on a line that snaked back and forth for HOURS to go through that exhibit! You can see the folks in line that ran back and forth along the length of the buliding.
