Hello, I live in the Netherlands and drive a chevrolet express awd 1500 year 2006. This van is a very exceptional car here. I have a problem I think with the safetybelts, the pasenger one and the two on the first bench lock after you put them on. In other words you can not move freely when the van is driving. The garage who imported the van tells me this is normal with this type of van. Is this true? If yes is there a solution to solve this problem? Thanks for answering me. Gerard

Gerard, I think the safety belts should lock as you describe only when you pull the belt all the way out of the retractor or when the brakes are heavily applied. I have not had my belts lock on my during normal driving conditions. You can hear a click in the retractor when the belt becomes locked. I hope you do not have any problems with the belts because they are expensive and must be replaced in a unit. Just purchased a retractor for $149 US dollars two months ago and I have to go back to purchase some buckle section of the belt for a bench seat.
