Anyone have the clock spring in the steering wheel break? If so, did you loose you CC controls and horn at the same time?

It happened to me this summer. I was backing out of a parking space and something inside the steering wheel went CRACK! and rattlerattle. I immediately noticed cruise control and horn was gone and my check engine light came on. Dealership told me the airbag was also disabled. All were fixed with the clock spring (and under warranty).

Thanks for the info, I had originally had it fixed when I bought the car used and it went again, so I need to fix it again, dealer quoted me $115 for the clock spring itself and it hopefully will be an easy fix.

Got to get it fixed, deal said same price to me 115.

Let me know how it goes if you do it yourself.

It sounds like something is loose, although you said you checked everything.

Are you sure there's absolutely no lateral play in the wheel when it is up off the ground? Compare how it feels with the left front.
