Acadia warrants a trip to the dealer by njvike

I have only seen one so far but that wasn't at my local dealership. Looks like a winner to me and I will be taking a serious look once it arrives locally.

If the engine moves this vehicle, I'm sold. We did like the Pacifica but their 250 3.5 V6 seems to struggle to move it.

Don't know if this will matter to you or not, but the 2007 Pacificas have a new 253 horsepower 4.0-liter engine with more torque.

Does anyone know what the residual and money factor are for a 36 month lease?

I priced a 48 month lease - residula was 47% and lease factor was 7.05% - not very competitive.
While the Acadia looks and rides nice, don't overpay for a product that offers comparable performance to the Pacifica. The Acadia I priced out was $5,500 more than the price for a fully loaded Pacifica Limited after discounts and rebates. And Chrysler stands by their warranty - if you are looking for a 36-month lease, there is no advantage from the GMC 5-year power train lease anyway.
The Acadia is nice, just severely overpriced when compared to some of the competition. Wait a little while and GM will learn this lesson and start introducing some incentives!

The Acadia is new so there aren't going to be any rebates just yet. If for some reason the vehicle doesn't sell as GM predicted, then you can expect to see some rebates.

But if people like it so much, you'll be waiting a while.

That's fine. I can wait until next year as I never purchase a first year model anyway. And speaking of rebates, the 300C never really had them until last year but look now.

Congratulations. It isn't often that American cars receive any positive news. Anyone see ABC World News Tonight?

Anyway, both Car & Driver and Motor Trend have both given very good reviews for the Acadia. Car & Driver claims that a rear view camera will be offered soon. Motor Trend brings out an interesting point about enough space in the engine compartment for a V8. Do they know something we don't? Would a V8 be available in the near future? The engine seems to be the only shortcoming as both magazines state. They say the power is fine but if you have the vehicle loaded with 8 passengers climbing a hill, you will be pressing it.

I'm not sure if GMC will add a V8. Isn't fuel economy one of the goals of this vehicle? How about a little more power? Both Chrysler and Ford have both made this mistake. Ford with the 500 and Chrysler with the Pacifica. Both of which have updated and more powerful engines.

Anyway, I think the Acadia is a winner.

GM is hurting and asking up to 45K for this vehicle is a 'no deal' You can buy a Acura MDX (low end) for same $$'s with much higher residuals.
