I am having the same radio/sound issue. I would appreciate it if you could share whether or not your dealer was able to fix the problem, and what it was.

thanks much.

CD/DVD player by jujujlm

I have had my Acadia for about 4 hours and have a question that hopefully someone out there knows. We have the navagation and rear DVD entertainment system. I was not aware that it did not have a 6 cd player AND that you could not listen to cd's while a dvd was being watched in the rear. Does anyone else have a different option with both the navagation and entertainment system that allows the dual playing CD/DVD?

That will be a no go for me if I am not able to listen to my cd's while the children watch movies. This is a must in my book. I am waiting on the 08 it is due to the the production line June 18 and should be in dealerships by July. I am hoping it has the back up camera, the updated entertainment system (so I can listen to cd's while kids watch movies) an additional interior color (that light titanium color is just nasty-to light) and I saw somewhere in the forum where someone stated that they may add a Denali Version that would be nice. I drove one and I was sold then but as I did more research I saw the Buick Enclave and I decided to wait for that to come to dealerships so I can test drive it and put the two side by side in person (not the computer). Check the GMC website beginning April 30 or the 1st of May they should have more info on the 08 Acadia by then. I am excited about the GM brand of cars for the first time in my life. They have done an awesome job and I want to purchase American. I drive a 03 Volvo S60 but I need a larger vehicle. COME ON GMC GIVE US SOMETHING MORE TO TALK ABOUT....give us what we as consumers want in our cars.

2nd row captain's chairs are a must for me. That's one reason I didn't want a SUV/VAN because I felt clostiphobic in them because of that bench seat. It reminded me too much of a car. This is airy and Just perfect. Cute about the order of the extra animals/people riding in your car lol.

After reviewing all options this weekend, we have decided to get an IPOD and download all the music from our cd's on it. We are able to listen to an auxillary input device from the front while the kids are watching a movie. This will eliminate ALL cd's in the car.

Other then that, we love this car. The navagation system is absolutely awesome. We used it this weekend to get to a golf tournament. Took us right to the front gate.

You can use both CD and DVD at the same time if you don't have the NAV. If you have the Nav option, then there is only room left for one disc.

This really torqued me, especially since it also applies to the Yukon Denalis, which are expensive vehicles (my older Denali has 6-disc changer in the center console; but they don't offer that anymore).

However, when I really thought about it, we RARELY listen to CD's now. The new vehicles have MP3 input which is a whole lot easier way to bring a lot of music in your car. And when you are driving down the road, can you really discern sound quality of a CD vs MP3?? (if you are that much of an audiophile you are probably buying aftermarket stereos anyway).

If you really want both, have an upscale stereo shop add a CD changer for you.

I first was bothered by this then realized that since I found a good earpiece I like it better anyway. I oftentimes am already on the phone before I get in the car, or stop the car and get out somewhere; with the earpiece I can continue the conversation without interruption. Further, the kids or anyone else in the car can't interfere as much with a headset conversation.

If bluetooth is a must-have, you can also get good aftermarket add-ons.

I haven't found a car yet that had EVERY configuration I wanted but keep sending the emails to the execs and maybe someone will get most of what we want.

I was bummed out about the center consol only having one A/C plug in, until I found the secret hide a way under the change container

Are you saying there are more power outlets hidden? I had been surprised to see only 1 in the front; more of either DC or AC would be great.

Transmission/Suspension Issues? by gjnsc

I bought my Acadia in March I have taken it in twice for a popping noise as it shifts from first to second gear and sometimes a couple more after second to third. Each time they have fixed several other things they call "re-call" items, but not this one. The first time they told me the transmission issue was known. It was a re-programming of the computer. I was told it was fixed. It was not. The next time I took it in, I asked for a copy of the service record. From the first time they listed the problem as "unable to duplicate, customer told to return if problem persists" The second time they kept it a couple of days. They told me this time that it was not the transmission, but the suspension and GMC is aware of the problem, but did not have a fix for it yet. They would keep checking and keep me updated. Yet, once again on the service record they wrote "Could not duplicate enough to diagnose" Makes me quite suspicious as I drove the technician around to show him the problem and he heard it. I have been searching for similar issues, but have not seen any. Love the truck, but my dealership is horrible! Stokes-Hodges GMC in Thomson, Ga. DO NOT buy from this dealer. Very dishonest and deceitful. Any feedback would be great!
