I was researching the Acadia online when I noticed a disclaimer that the six speed transmission was only on the FWD vehicles. Is this true? If so, what transmission does the AWD vehicles get? On another note, does anybody else have concerns with the ride quality with the optional 19" wheel/tire package? |

| My AWD Acadia has the 6 speed auto and so does everyone else with AWD...no other choice. | |

I bought my 07 GMC Acadia in May,07. The MSRP price was $35,464. They would'nt accept my offer of MY 03 Chev. Tahoe with only 27,000 miles on it and $15,000 cash. THE TAHOE WAS A CREAM PUFF. LOOKED BRAND NEW. They kept uping the ante on me, because I was looking for a RED JEWEL color and they had one. They seen how interested in the vehicle I was and they finally said YOUR TAHOE AND $17,000 cash. I TOOK THE DEAL - AND I HAVE NOBODY TO BLAME BUT MYSELF. BUT, I THINK THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME BECAUSE I'M A 80 YEAR OLD SENIOR CITIZEN. I have about 3000 miles on the vehicle now. Here is my experience with the Acadia. Somewhere between 41 and 45 miles per hour the transmission suddenly acclerates - seems like it goes into another gear. I let off of pedal and it downshifts into another gear. BACK AND FORTH - BACK AND FORTH. ALSO, THE SAME SITUATION AT AROUND 65 MILES PER HOUR. The sticker on the window stated - 18 miles in city and 26 miles on road. Best I have ever got was 16.9 BOTH CITY AND ROAD. WHEN I HAD ABOUT 2600 MILES ON THE ACADIA, I ASKED MY FRIEND TO CHECK THE AIR PRESSURE IN THE TIRES. THERE WAS 28 LBS. IN EACH TIRE. Question: Did the dealership knowingly put that air 28 lbs.pressure in the tires - SO YOU WOULD GET A SMOOTHER RIDE IN THE VEHICLE? I don't know? However, anybody knows that you get a smoother ride with low air pressure. THE TIRE MANUFACTER RECCOMENDS 35 lbs. IN EACH TIRE. I took it back to the dealer, and they put 34 lbs. in the tires- THE RIDE IS MUCH ROUGHFER - IF, I had know that when I test drove the car - I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT. TO ANYBODY THAT IS THINKING ABOUT BUYING A GMC ACADIA - CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE BEFORE YOU TEST DRIVE THE CAR. In my experience of buying the 2007 Acadia - I wish I had my 03 Chev. Tahoe back and my $ 17,000.00

I forgot to tell about the $ 500.00 CASH BACK OFFER OF GM. During all of the negotiations of my deal - NOBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME ABOUT THE $ 500.00 CASH BACK OFFER OF GM. GM ADVERTISED A $ 500.00 CASH BACK OFFER IF YOU TOOK DELIVERY BY JUNE,2007. I bought my 2007 Acadia in May,2007. I qualified for the $500.00 CASH BACK OFFER - BUT< The dealer took it. I filed my complaint with the Customer Relationa Manager - GMC Customer Assistance Center - P.O. Box 33172 - Detroit, MI. 48232-5172. I sent him all of the paper work and description of the RAW DEAL that I got from the GMC Dealer. That was on May 30,2007. I waited and waited on the Consumer Managers reply. When I did not receive one - I filed a complaint with the BBB Auto Line Program - Council of Better Business Bureaus,Inc. in Arlington,Va. ( I followed the instructions as prescribed in the manual of the new Acadia).when you have a complaint. The Better Business Bureau in Arlington,V. turned the case over to the BBB in Charlotte,N.C. They contacted the Dealership and got a reply from the woman owner. I filed a rebuttal to her description. The Charlotte BBB opened the case on August 14,2007. The Charlotte BBB closed the case on October 11,2007. TODAY IS OCTOBER 22,2007 I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A DECISION FROM THE GM CONSUMER RELATIONS MANAGER IN DETROIT,MI. ON MY COMPLAINT??? ALTHOUGH THE CHARLOTTE BBB HAS CLOSED THE CASE - (Their web site says that they notified the dealer that they closed the case on October 11,2007) THE BBB HAS NOT NOTIFIED ME OF THEIR DECISION ON MY COMPLAINT??????? WELL, there it is neighbors. I thought that folks were supposed to deal with the customer in a fair, honest and truthful manner? Not so with my encounter with the people at GMC and the dealership, and the Better Business Bureau. TAKE NOTICE FROM THIS ENCOUNTER AND BE GUIDED ACCORDINGLY This is my last purchase of a GMC product - in the past,I believe I have purchased about 6 or 7 GM vehicles. 4 of them were NEW. I am currently trying to trade this 2007 Acadia for a - 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited. MAN,that's a beautiful vehicle.IF,ANYBODY HAS A DEAL,LET ME KNOW. Hope I have helped someone from getting taken for a ride. IF, you know what I mean?

Replying to: kimdvm1 (Apr 23, 2007 5:21 pm) I've been looking at these and depending on the trim level there can be a 12v and a three prong AC right under the radio. Some other options provide a three prong in the second row. |

It has more space in side and quit ride. About tires, they should be 35psi, you should get your diagnostic report on second day. My tires was 33-34 psi. |

I am wondering if anyone has experienced incorrrect fuel guage readings, and know of a correction for this. I burned 30 litres of fuel on a full tank approx 80 liters and the guauge tells me im below half. The guage has a tenancy to jump up at times to show more fuel in the tank. Any comments? |
