Replying to: pao (Dec 15, 2006 11:41 am) The problem with your logic is that I'm not buying a 15 year-old Miata or buying a Solstice 15 years from now. The Solstice of today has to do as well or better than the Miata of today if people are going to choose one over the Miata. Looks will do for the first year, but after that, it's a straight up comparison. The Fiero comparison comes down to this: The Fiero was a great idea poorly executed the first year. By the time GM got around to fixing the problems with the design, sales were already dead and the car was discontinued.

Replying to: lokki (Feb 21, 2007 2:22 pm) would say that GM is hearing what the current owners want and making the improvements to the car.....just as what happened when the Miata first came out.....I would state its a straight up comparison right now for the 07 model year....and they seem to be holding their own if not better sales for the current model year |

That's perfectly fine with me. You're in the experiencing and opinion publishing business, which provides you access to the many models of cars out there. I have a Solstice because I love its look, I love the way it fits me, glovelike. I love how it drives, have experienced none of the complaints. I like the sound of the engine! That's part of the feel, ambience, attitude of the Solstice. You've got your opinion, and your multitude of cars to choose from to drive. I've got my Solstice. It is the only car I have seen in my life I wanted new bad enough to make it happen, and I am not disappointed. My only other choice would have been for a 1953 Corvette. Unfortunately I wasn't born yet then; makes it hard to get a new one, eh? Summary: Sol is a great little roadster, to me. And that's all that matters. |

She took my breath away the first time I layed eyes on it. Getting a 5'10.5" woman in the car had to be leaned but there's plenty of leg room and it rides like a dream. Now at 48,273 miles and only one recall, oil changes, tire rotation and cam phaser for the exhuast side replaced this car has been very low maintenance and I get over 27 miles to the gallon in Atlanta traffic. I LOVE THIS CAR !! |
