Not a big difference in price between the Focus ST and the C30 with the T5.

The C30 T5 lists for about £1,500 more the top of the line Focus ST. Not sure how that relates to street prices though could be an even bigger difference.

I don't have my conversion calculator with me (ok, i don't even own one), but isn't that like $3k USD? That's like 13% of the base C30 price. I'd say that is significant enough for alot of buyers.

Yeah your right. I think sometimes my idea of significant gets thrown of by selling 100,000 dollar cars.

I have worked leases where the payment was more then 3,000 dollars.

my god that is hideous. i mean, just truly the definition of excess. Most people would choke on that number as a mortgage payment.

It is not the norm but on a 100,000 dollar car using a 20,000 mile or more a year lease you can hit three grand really quick.

Normal lease on that car is more like 1,800 a month.

I'm about to buy a car cause i just sold my old 1. and Im looking into the C30 T5 probabaly the 5speed tip tronic automatic transmission. do you think its worth buying??

Are aftermarket parts for this car out already??like xhaust, intake, cam, pulley and stuff??

I test drived it a month ago i can't take my brain out of it!!! the power just pulls you to the seats. Theres a big diff to the T5 of the S40 alot more power of the C30.simplicity is the key!

ipdusa.com does have parts up for the C30. Your biggest bang for the buck on a turbo car is of course a reflash of the ECU. Unfortunately, they don't list that just yet (surprisingly).

Don't get the C30 in an automatic. Learn to drive a manual if you don't know how to already. The only thing worse then a little car like the C30 with a slushbox is a MINI with a slushbox.

I guess you are kind of helping me make my point. In the examples of the TL over the accord, and the lexus over the camry, there are so many obvious and desirable features in the more expensive vehicles that no one questions their "premium status" I have always thought the TL was a hell of alot of car for the money if that is what you were looking for. I have a much more difficult time thinking of a smallish hatch with cloth seats and a cheap plastic steering wheel as "premium" On a side note.. How well does a 6-footer fit in the volvo C-30?? The specs show all front seat dimensions plus or minus an inch of the Mazda with the Mazda having 3 extra inches of rear leg room. The C-30 is not a bad car - quite desirable in fact - all I am saying here is that from my point of view Volvo is going to have to work hard to convince a large enough pool of buyers that the car is worth the asking price. If you really like the car, hold off a bit..I predict significant discounting 6-12 months after introduction.

They only want to sell, IIRC, 8k units. So not a large pool in the automotive world. quite small really.

Well, where do you classify a Civic Si? In coupe form, it is not nearly as functional, is nearly as expensive, yet offers less power, less sound deadening, less safety features, etc. At least, that's the way I see it. What about a GTI? Is that a premium vehicle? In other words, regardless of the tag put on, it is priced competitively. It is above the likes of a Hyundai hatchback, but below the now defunct C230 hatch. I personally wouldn't call it premium until you start loading it up, at which point your complaints of cloth seats, etc, would not apply.

I suspect quite well. It is not the measurements that count, but the seat. Mazda does not offer an 8-way power seat. If they did, it would be a different ballgame for me.

no one questions their "premium status"

You obviously don't read the boards very closely. Of all the makes I listed, there are LOADS of folks making the same comments you are now about the C30. "The ES is just a gussied up Camry" "why buy the TL when the Accord is just as good" etc etc etc.
