First Drive: 2008 Volvo C30 - Although the C30 arrives in the U.S. next summer, it has already gone on sale in Europe so we headed for the U.K. and sampled one on the wrong side of the road. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Volvo C30 - A nicely appointed, strong-performing 2+2 with an upscale flare and a light disposition. (more)

Replying to: bitterbob (Aug 07, 2007 12:46 pm) I especially never understood buying a premium car designed to be quiet and serene, then blasting air into it from a hole in the roof. Is rolling down a window all that different? |

Boston Volvo just posted a great lease deal on the C30. Looks like they may have screwed up by $100. I think it is supposed to read $379, not $279. Anyway, I am heading down there tonight to take advantage of the screw up. Here's the link for anyone else who is interested: http://www.bostonvolvo.com/section_Specials_14 (You have to scroll down to the bottom to see it)

I drove the V2.0 C30 with a manual yesterday and I liked it. The shifter is a little rubbery and the throws are on the long side but that can be fixed. The clutch is really, really light though and will take some getting used to. I was driving with my big boots on so that didn't help things. I set the seat up where I could sit in the back comfortably for a couple of hours then tried to see if I could comfortable drive the car like that. I am five foot 11 and conceivably could have someone similar sized sit behind me. |

Replying to: 1000hours (Aug 19, 2007 6:30 am) So volvo drops a nice engine in it and piles on the safety features. That's good... but $8K good?? Not sold on the concept here. Even the reviewers say at a base price of $23-25K the steering wheel feels chaep and the cloth interior is quite basic. The added features one expects in a "premium car" (leather, upgrade sound system, etc.) run the price up quickly into the mid-30's. I just think there is little value here. It is very nice.. but too little car for too much money.

Replying to: grinnin (Oct 13, 2007 7:41 am) so if you don't like what is added, buy the mazda3. folks who ... oh, i dunno ... buy an Acura TL over an Accord, a Lexus ES over a Camry, a Towncar over a Crown Vic, etc, etc, obviously will pay for added features, sound deadening material, badge, or what have you. Oh, and yes, all of those are considered "premium cars" over their lesser counterparts. the mazda is a nice little car, no doubt. and if they would build one to accomodate a person over 6' for the long haul, it would demand more of my consideration.
