I have found the new Volvo C30 and its features. I can say it is really great. And to add drama and pump up the personality, the Dual Tone volvo body kit gives you cutting-edge colour contrast (along with wind cutting aerodynamics).

Um, yeah, check out a Honda, Scion, or VW. No offense intended, but Volvo is a high end automobile. Do you remember the Mercedes whatever-it-was-called hatchback that ended production a year or two ago? No one complained about that car being an overpriced "little" car. Why? Because everyone knows that the Benz is a high end automobile. Volvo may not have the same "prestige" as a Mercedes, but its definately a higher end OEM than Honda or Toyota and VW.

The C30 (US version) is not intended as a commuter car for recent college graduates who have a lot of student loans and are starting out on the low end of the pay scale... The C30 is more or less a car for someone who has the money to throw away on a "fun" car.

I agree also because I don't think a college grad could afford $23000 starting out. I think it is intended for adults that need a car intended for the city.

I just got back yesterday from a track trying out several differant models including the c30. WHAT A GREAT CAR THE C30 IS. The automatic transmission is very smooth and doesnt gear hunt or hesitate like the others did. Incredibly smooth and quiet also.

it is a little but it helps the rear visability alot. You can see a curb right behind you!

I agree a decontented car would be nice, but I suspect Volvo doesn't want to enter that price range with it. But demanding a sunroof for an otherwise pretty nice performing $27K car? I have two sunroofs on two cars (both about $34k) and have used them about 2 times in 5 years. I have always noted their popularity but never understood their appeal. But then I spend a lot of time outdoors already. If I want to enjoy the sun I just go out to the beach or sit on my porch, or go to work. I work outdoors.

I especially never understood buying a premium car designed to be quiet and serene, then blasting air into it from a hole in the roof. Is rolling down a window all that different?

Boston Volvo just posted a great lease deal on the C30. Looks like they may have screwed up by $100. I think it is supposed to read $379, not $279. Anyway, I am heading down there tonight to take advantage of the screw up. Here's the link for anyone else who is interested: http://www.bostonvolvo.com/section_Specials_14

maybe ... but it IS just one specific stock number and its a very low miles lease (10.5k/year) and it requires $2k down and $895 bank fee. Kinda pricey, actually. I mean, add it all up and its somewhere around $420/mo before taxes to drive 10.5k miles a year.

$1995 down pmt,plus $895 bank fee,plus $289 doc fee,plus 1st pmt,plus decap tax,plus plates.
Prob close to $3500-4000 by the time all is said and done.
