My buddy's old 1976 245DL wagon wasn't very premium...I think the distinction between what's premium and what's not is in the marketing. How much less would your MPG be if you just used regular. Cause there aren't many premium branded cars or luxury cars that use regular unless you get a lincolm mkz. Or you get a buick a premium branded car but not what most people think as premium brand. Is spending the extra 30 cents or so worth it?

My research into proper break-in procedures for high performance engines says that using a their method can increase horsepower 5% or more, so that brings it up to 238(5%). I read another article about air filter replacements for up to 12 more horsepower. So I can see getting 250hp stock by just replacing the paper air filter with a high quality sponge filter and selecting a proven high performance break-in method.

From autoweek 0-60 in 6.2 secs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that put it very near the top, if not THE top, of hot hatches. Well... ok, there is the mazdaspeed3. Any others I'm forgetting?
