Article comments for The World's Fastest Diesel: 363 mph - On the record run, Green's legendary coolness — he applied opposite lock at 650 mph in Thrust — proves his undoing. The JCB team had established a target of 335 mph and having reached that speed, Green applied the brakes before the end of the measured mile. Instead of a 330-mph average, the team therefore achieved 328 mph. "That was embarrassing," says Green. "I forgot it was a record run." (more)
