I sorry you are having those problems, I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction. I am glad, however, to see your reasoned approach to this issue and the fact that not all entourages are lemons as has been implied by others who had problems with theirs. Best of luck.

I just got a call from Hyundai America. They are going to replace my squeaker with a new Entourage. I am very pleased now with their customer service!

OH NOT AGAIN by failsafe1

So, Hyundai agreed to replace my squeaking and rattling Entourage with a new Entourage, which I thought was great. My wife and I waited for the new Entourage that we picked to be delivered to the dealership. In the meantime, we had a rental courtesy of Hyundai. When the new Entourage arrived, we were thrilled. That is until we took it for a test drive. The new Entourage had 5 miles on it. It squeaked and rattled like a 1966 station wagon. We would not accept it. We were very disapointed. The salesman suggested we test drive the Veracruz, which we did. We loved it. We are now waiting for it to be delivered to the dealership. Hope this test drive goes better than the previous one.

Just wondering, did they ever find out where the squeaks are coming from. Bought in 06/06. It still squeaks but not enough to bother me. Is possible for owners to fix, meaning, it's something simple?

Rear hatch squeak by scraz

I just joined and am surprised that others have this same issue. I've had mine in twice for the intermittent squeak. It is acute in the colder months, and non existent in warm weather. Living in Cleveland, Oh, we have more cold months than warm ones. It is now squeak season and begin October with the fourth service trip. I am in the plastic and rubber industry and it is clear that the compound they use for the rear hatch seals is bad. Otherwise, the latch itself must not be designed to put the correct load onto the seals. With this in mind, I'm going to have both the seals and latch assembly replaced. Only a few more trips and I'll initiate a lemon law filing.

Other issues I have had include cutting the rotors at 18K miles! Must be cheap steel that can't handle the heat of the brakes. Replacement of the A/C clutch, and the newest issue, a whining of the steering wheel when it is being turned.

Everything covered under warranty, but I sure hope these are bugs that are all worked out soon. I have 22K miles on an O7 Limited.

We love the van and it was a great value, but I got rid of my 01 T&C because of too many major issues and trips to repair shop.

I have an Entourage with 6K on it and it rattles and squeaks like crazy. Just got it back from the Lithia Dealer shop and if anything, it is worse. They said they put in some material in behind the plastic in the rear door panel. Decided I would ride in the rear area and listen. Not only does the rear door rattle and squeak, both rear side panels offer up some noise. The repair guy said he would consult with the factory. Wonder how many days til I hear back? Let you know. FYI, when I pushed on the panel with very light pressure, in each of the areas, the noise stops. Looks to me in my humble opinion like there are not enough places where the platic panels are secured and that with some time, more than a few people are likely to hear this noise.

This is one of those things that if not fixed would make me very disatisfied as the noise in unrelenting unless parked. When parked, it is a nice car?

I have the same problem. I rode in the rear with back seats down and finally figured out that the noise is coming from the latch. I wrapped black electical tape around the latch, door fits tight but there is NO NOISE.

How long ago did you put the tape on? And how bad does it get chewed up from opening and closing? I mean, how often do you need to rewrap the latch? I'll give it a try, thanks.

I tried the tape. No luck but interestingly, when I picked up my brother at the airport and put his luggage in the well, the noise stopped. Took the luggage out and it returned. Put about 40 of books in the well behind the back seats and guess what, the noise disappeared.

I also contacted Hyundai. The dealer is supposed to have me come back in when one of their experts can take a look?

In the meantime, I have found a new use for telephone books.

I have been dealing with this same issue since we purchase our van in July of 2006. I live in Cincinnati and we too see that it gets worse in colder weather than in the warmer months. I have reached my limits dealing with the local Hyundai dealership. Over a 3 month period our van was in the shop a total of 5 times. As in my of these other stories I am hearing, the noise goes away for maybe a few days at best then returns as if nothing was worked on. I spoke with Hyundai USA and they would not replace my van, the owner of the dealership hung up the phone on me because he stated I did not understand how Ohio's lemon law worked. I can tell you that if you have this issue that it will never be fixed even with them replacing parts and pieces to the door. I don't know what the issue is and neither does Hyundai but they are not willing to do what it takes to make a frustrated customer happy. Good luck if you have this problem because no one seems to know how to fix it.
