Fix For Taking the Guesswork Out of Ignition Key Insertion by garym1j

Owners have a 50-50 chance getting the key in the ignition the correct way. Fix: Paint top half of the key white. Insert key white side up. Your welcome.

I really appreciate the honesty of your entry. I can relate to several things you said which validate earlier observations. For instance the windshield wiper making one sweep while in the auto position when starting. I hope Hyundai monitors this forum. Again, thanks for your thoughtful entry.

Are you talking about the ignition key for the Azera??? Looking at mine, the key is cut identically the same on both sides, it doesn't matter which way you insert it, it will still start the car.

However, if one needs to identify one side over the other, painting isn't necessary. I don't know about you other Azera owners, but my key has a series of three raised dots on one side and on the othe side, it's two raised dots with an "M" in between.

Thank you for your response. I made a mistake. After trying again, it the key certainly works either side up.
I have no idea why I could not make the key function.
Fortunately I only painted one key. No chance for me to be a rocket scientist.

Re: My favorite: The Air Quality System. Only BMW and Lexus have this, as far as I know, and it alone is worth buying a Hyundai for, in my opinion. I love not having to breathe exhaust fumes anymore.

I was wondering about that today. I was sitting at a light with a diesel bus
spewing exhaust and I was wondering why I wasn't smelling it. I didn't know
that was the reason. Thanks for mentioning it.

You don't fully realize all that the cabin air-filter is doing for you until 10k miles have gone by and you pull out the old filter to replace it! Picture a smoker's lungs, with bits of bugs...

A noisy-to-noiseless key fob solution: by gamleged

So, here's my solution to the key fob imbroglio: A small carabiner, a small split-ring; no more in-pocket button pushes, no more scraping-bumping along the dash.

I'll let the key go nekkid, or maybe I'll add a soft leather strap with a quick-release to the key and attach it to my house key-ring for pocket carry, removing it for automotive use so I don't have a lot of weight hanging down and wearing the auto's key mechanism...

... and here's what I did for the key, using a leather pouch for a "Zen Stone," a memory chip case with some minimal ID tucked inside the pouch and a couple more split rings and a quick-disconnect to let me attach it to my house key ring...

Comparison by carolinabob

I recently looked at a 2008 Acura RL with Technology package and compared the luxury features of it to my Azera Limited with Ultimate. Amazing what the Azera has that the RL does not. Decided the Azera features outweighed the ones in the RL-at least to my wants.
