In the interest of full disclosure, I am the happy owner of a 2007 Mazdaspeed3 GT. I'm trying to figure out why I would consider an R32. I'm sure the VW has a higher luxury factor. In it's price class, that's not such a big trick. I'm sure that V6 has got to be faster. Uhhh, it doesn't appear so. Rain sensing wipers, auto climate control, premium sound, and automatic Xenon headlights. Check, check, check, and check. Hmm... German exclusivity and an intimate relationship with the dealers service dept. Maybe that's the difference.

Navigation systems have become just as big of a road hazard as "driving while talking on a cellphone", IMHO. In my 200 mile-a-day daily commute, I've seen more drivers who pay more attention to their NAV systems instead of the road - resulting in cars swerving on/off the road, missed exits (which results in additional stupid behavior such as "driving back to the missed exit in reverse", "drivers slowing down the fast lane so they can make a U-turn in the median to go back to the exit", and my favorite - "drivers slowing down on a busy freeway completely clueless trying to figure out what to do after missing an exit".). If cars are going to have all of these electronic gizmos - the manufacturers might as well perfect an auto-pilot feature that eliminates the need for human intervention while driving... I prefer to use my built-in navigation system - eyes, ears, and mind... Nav systems are just another thing to break - as well as line the pockets of the manufacturers. Believe it or not, many people have relied on this system years before nav systems arrived - and somehow, miraculously - we survived. Imagine that???? |

So what color did everyone pick. My dealer did not have the grey. I am not wild about white cars as they seem to get dirty within minutes of leaving the carwash. I went back and forth between the red and blue and finally decided on the red. Also, I know 2008 was the first year of production since 2004. Is Volkswagen going to produce the R#

AWD? 7. an interior that doesnt look like a gussied up econo sedan? (the base rabbit even puts the base 3 hatch to shame with the interior quality) i'd say thats enough. lets not even get started on transmissions. the r32 isn't for everybody. |

The Skoda part number is generic and works on all kinds of VW's. This bluetooth module has full touch screen navigation integration. VAG-com programming is required. USB iPod is quite expensive and it's for the Tiguan but could work in all the other golf chassis vehicles. 499 plus 65 USD for the adaptor. The 65 USD part number are for those who have iPods. This unit can play usb devices like thumb drives. Hope this helps. |

The USA version again has Sirius and HD radio. USA version will have Bluetooth audio. There will also be Sirius Traffic as well. The USA version has a slightly different button layout. Also shows the Premium Bluetooth. USA version might be like it but won't have SOS. Could be possible to have 911 instead. The regular bluetooth is identical but wont have SOS. Hope this helps.

The MDI interface is now avaliable in the USA etka. Module: P/N 5N0 035 341 iPod cable: P/N 4F0 051 510 E USB cable: P/N 5N0 035 558 Requires a custom harness since it needs to send the tags to the can bus. Works with the RNS-510 and other headunits. RNS-510 gets full integration. Also a non nav version of the RNS-510 will be avaliable. That version will be called the RCD-510. No Hard drive but it does have a 6 disc MP3/WMA changer. It too will have touchscreen bluetooth and MDI support. If you are thinking about getting the iPod adaptor for VW then don't get it. It's far inferior when compared to the MDI. Hope this helps.
